Violet Tablescape

TA DA! or maybe DA DA DA DA!!!!!!

Ceekay, what are you talking about? Stay with me. You will find out.

Today it Tablescape Thursday at Susan's. I felt like flowers since our real ones are dead, dried up, and fried....

This set of dishes was given to me about 15 years ago and honestly....now, please control yourself. It is going. But I thought I would do a tablescape BEFORE I take it to the consign shop.

The pattern is Spring Violet by Cunninghame and Pickett!
I used my green round placemats that I know many of you have too...green napkins and my flower napkin rings. Good ole gold flatware and the infamous 1.00 glasses from Dollar Tree.

The gold design around the edges is fantastic, isn't it?

Love the violets in the cup.

Oh...slow....aren't these cute...found today at HomeGoods. Had to have!

One has eggs...the other

A bird. (I know, I know)

My centerpiece from Valerie Parr Hill at QVC.

Hope you enjoyed my tablescape today.
Now before I go look at more beautious (??) tablescapes....what is the Ta Da??
It is that I had the strength to do it. Oh Ceekay, is it the chemo???
NOOOOOO....it is Bentley. Apparently, Bentley was originally raised by roosters. He wakes up at 4:30 AMMMMMMM!!!! and wants Mommy and Daddy to wake up too! He is killing us! But he is sooo cute, what is a Mommy to do?
And what is Bentley doing right now? Uh, he is taking his late afternoon nap to prepare for his early evening nap, to prepare for bed!!!

Ceekay, what a gorgeous tablescape. I love everything. The cute little flatware with the eggs and the birdie are wonderful. I love them all. Now, tell Bentley to stay awake tonight and then go to bed really late and then stay asleep late in the morning. Hugs, Marty

Gorgeous ~~ in a word! But wait! Truly? Are you going to take those dishes to the consignment store?? they will be snatched up in a heartbeart. So very pretty. I loved looking at this pretty table. I'm so sorry to read about your cancer. I can tell you have a lot of determination to beat this AND a good attitude! Funny about your Bentley. Hope you get some sleep! Donna

My Bichon/Shih Tzu has also recently changed her sleeping habits. She also wants to get up at 5 p.m. to eat. I don't even need to look at the clock. I tried one night to put her hard food in my room so she would help herself. Nooo, she decides she will eat it all up while I am sleeping and she still wants her canned food at 5 a.m.
I am so close to putting her in her crate for the night...but then she would scratch and bark for me to get up. What to do???

Excellent tablescape! I must find a Home Goods store..but none are near me. Anything with birds and nests appeals to me and yours are darling!
Thank you so much for your nice comment on my post. I appreciated that so much.
I need to do more tablescapes soon..I think the more you do the more proficient you get at it, as with anything.
I loved the flowers..and that is something I need to buy. You are an inspiration.
Do with your little rooster as we did with the children..keep him up late and maybe he will sleep late? :) I guess it wouldn't work in this case..

OMG, CeeKay...I have that same set of dishes!! (Check out one of my few Thursday tablescapes on my blog!) It was my Mom's, and she got the pieces at the local country store with grocery purchases. She just gave them to me, and I'm thrilled to pieces. It's hard to find vintage china with handpainted flowers and gold trim these days.

Ceekay...your tablescape is beautiful! I love your violet dishes, I'd have a hard time giving them up....someone will snatch them up right away...hugs, Linda

I love those dishes. I would really have a hard time taking them to the shop!!

Those little spreaders are so cute! Now, I'll be out there looking for them!

Even though tablescaping is new to me and I haven't seen too many yet, I know that yours is going to be one of the prettiest I'll see. The centrepiece is delightful. I'll be stopping by every week to see your wonderful table.

Good morning Ceekay!
Boy do I know the name of that tune with early rising dogs! UGH!
LOVE THE DISHES! Why are you getting rid of them?
I wish we had a consignment shop. It'd be nice to get some money instead of just giving it away. We are not allowed to have yard sales in our neighborhood, so it is literally given away.
The silverware with the eggs and bird? TO DIE FOR! Now I'm missing my local Home Goods. Haven't seen a single one on this trip. That might be a good thing tho, because of all the antique stores I've found.
Glad to hear the chemo is going well. It's wonderful to see you have so much energy!!!!!
Have a wonderful day. Beautiful post. But your tablescapes usually are!
Hugs. Karen

Before you get rid of the china, check out the prices on Replacements. I almost gave some to Goodwill (I posted on TT about this--Holy Moly Tablescape) and found out my plates were listed at $119.95 each!

Very cute post and such a pretty table. Your birdie knives are precious!

Pretty, pretty. And WHY are the dishes going?

As for Bentley...perhaps he needs to have an alarm clock set on his naps...and be woken a little earlier from each of them!! A soft, little, slippered foot in the behind to wake the little guy might help. He'd be learning real quick not to wake me before 7:00 - I don't do mornings that early!! (He wouldn't like to wake me up at that time - my response wouldn't be that great - just ask my hubby!)

Love the little butter knives too!

That silverware is wonderful! I will be on the look out for it..so different!
Beautiful table!!

Ceekay, you're getting rid of those pretty violet dishes!!! Well, I sometimes put things on the curb, as I don't have much room. So I can't be talking I guess. They're just so darned cute! And so is that precious dog! Oh, and the birds nest and birds!!!

Lovely, just lovely. But why oh why are you giving up those dishes? You could put them on Ebay or make them a give away on your blog. They are darling. Love the spreaders - they sure weren't at my HomeGoods. All of the faux flowers look great too. Just beautiful. Funny, my dogs have been out of wack in the sleeping department lately too. It's hard to function on not enough sleep, but what's a Mom to do?!?!? Thanks again for such a lovely scape.

Ceekay, beautiful dishes and the flatware was tooo cute. I know what you mean about the rooster wake up call. I have a little girl who is eightteen years old, and her wake up call is 5am. She is a rescue animal and we have had her for sixteen years. She has lost her eyesight, but she is still the matriarch.
