Hi all.....I am back in Alabama after a weekend in Missouri. Candy and I went to visit her parents...Have I mentioned it was raining, and did rain, and still rained.
It is beautiful here today, but we are both TIRED! We squeezed in everything possible in 5 days.
Yes, I have done some shopping....and yes, I am taking pictures. You all take care....I will check in again in a few days!

Hi from Alabama!
Wow, is it green here!
You all must have had your mega prayer shawls on, because I believe it was one of the best plane rides I have had.....Hardly a bump! Thank you!
I have no pictures yet to share, however, our day is just beginning. It is raining but that is ok, cuz this is a rest day anyways.
Take care and I will pop in occasionally!!

Sweet Vacation Home Alabama
for a couple of weeks. I will be staying with my friend Candy (Sweet Meanderings). Really, we are using it as a base as we will be traveling to Hanibal Missouri - Mark Twain-ville! and Nashville.
So I am going to sign off for now. Trust me, a part of me misses blogging so much, and I get so far behind. So don't have too much fun without me!
Hubby is going to be home, holding down the fort and re-bonding with Bentley!
I will take lots of pictures.
I covet your prayers. For a smooth and safe flight, for my health to stay good, and for protection for my hubby and Bentley while I am gone. Thanks so much....
Aloha...uh, well no, how about, see y'all later you hear!

Lace Bits and Pieces
At one of the recent estate sale, I was fortunate to find a bag of lace pieces. I believe these are all handmade and appears to be samples of various patterns...
I know all you that love altered art would love this....and I do too!
I just had to bring out my teacup bear....she just seemed at home with the bits and pieces.

Her name will be Patience...
Well, I think Patience will be my baby doll's name. She has been patient waiting for a name all these years....
and maybe it will help me in that area too!! Lord knows I need it!
Saturday is coming and hubby and I will hit some estate sales. This will be the last of them for a couple of weeks while I am gone.
I ordered some new business cards for my blog. I love them. Got them from Vista print. They did a great job and you can't beat the price, I don't think. 250 cards for $10.00...
Whatcha think??

and Once I made a Doll
I was newly married and my aunt was big into ceramics. Someone, I don't remember who, thought we should make the women in the family a porcelain
baby doll. The body is cloth and stuffed....the head and the hands are porcelain. My mom, my cousin, my aunt and I cleaned and painted the pieces, my aunt baked them....Then it was a great co-operation of making the doll clothes. Now, unlike the bear, this memory is a great one....with my family around the table, creating.
Of course, you KNOW, I still have my doll.....she sits on my old trunk in our bedroom. Her dress is cream with peach ribbon...closet to orange for a baby outfit!

Have you ever made a doll?
Should we give her a name? Poor thing has been nameless for about 38 years!

I Made a Bear....Once!
Years ago I knew a lady who made Teddy Bears. She said one day, do you want to make a Teddy Bear like mine? Sure! (This is about 15 years ago, so I was a lot more eager back then!)
And with her help, I made a lovely Teddy Bear. And, I have never, and I think I am pretty safe to say, never going to do it again!
Oh, I know, she is sweet and wouldn't it be nice to make some for gifts or even to make some money. Ladies, in my opinion, no one, and I mean NO ONE would pay me what it would take to make another one!!
So enjoy....the fruits of my labors in Bear Land!!
The above left photos shows the little bear on her pantaloons on the butt..
the fabric of the dress....
the lace on the pantaloons...

I Made the Dessert!
My husband and I were invited for dinner and I asked what I could bring. They said, "bring a dessert." Well, I asked my hubby what I should make and in one second he said Pumpkin Pie Cake. This seems to be a family favorite of ours.
It turned out so pretty!
Here is the recipe. I think I have shown it before, but I will show it again...
Grease 13x9 cake pan
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
1 Yellow Cake Mix (reserve 1 cup of mix in a separate bowl)
1 egg
1/2 stick melted butter or margerine
Mix and press mixture into the cake pan going up a little on the sides.
1 can Libby Pie Mix
2 eggs
2/3 c. evaporated milk
Mix together and pour over batter in cake pan.
1 cup of reserved mix
1/2 stick softened butter or margerine
1 t. cinnamon
1/2 c suger
Mix and crumble on top of Pumpkin batter. Bake for 50 mins. Cool and refrigerate.
I top mine with Cool Whip, but it would be yummy with real Whipped Cream.
I also have seen some recipes add chopped pecans to the crumble...haven't tried that, because this is the way my Mom made it!
Ok...just to add that the whole cake is gone...like in 5 minutes! My husband said, "why is the pan clean?" I wanted another piece....Too late!

I don't know how it is THURSDAY already!
We had a huge, and I mean huge dust storm on Sunday evening. Our citrus trees lost all their dried leaves and there was 3, and I am not kidding, garbage cans full. Since my hubby is working it has taken me until today to get everything cleaned up as best I could. My neighbor's daughter used a blower and finished it for both of us today. What a blessing that was! This has been a rough weather year, that is for sure.
While most of my Spring decor is birds, I wanted to be sure to add the bees!!
I carefully put the vintage flower frogs in my apothecary jar and put a bee candle on the top. The bee skep candle is in one of my cloches...I don't burn either so being in glass isn't a problem.
The weather yesterday and today is phenomenal. So beautiful and perfect temps. My hubby will be off on Saturday, so I have my list of Estate sales ready to go! I am looking for a couple of items in particular....for some projects that are in my head!
I also have posted an update on my health on My Journey with Teal, so if you are interested, please visit.

Mic key..M O U S E
I was so sad today to hear of Annette Funicello's passing. Oh, many an hour was spent as a young girl watching the Mickey Mouse Club, and of course, Annette was a favorite.
I know she suffered for many years with Multiple Sclerosis.... which was so sad.
Out of her earthly pain now....Bye Annette.

My Souvenir from Disneyland
I didn't get much in Disneyland. Mostly I got my grands their ears, autograph books and smashed penny book. But my hubby did surprise me with a little trinket!
Does he know me or what?
My daughter also got me a belated birthday gift.....
It is a Christmas ornie, but there is NO Way I am putting this away...it is in my curio. I absolutely LOVE Mr. Potato head! Isn't this adorable...she has Minnie ears and is holding Mickey balloons.... (I just love when Mrs. Potato Head says she is packing his angry eyes.....)
Have a great Sunday.....see you next week! Oh, I have a little while before Alabama....I will let you know when I am leaving. It will be here before I know it!! Time just flies by!!

Easter Sunday with my Family!
Ok, I am a grandma and I do have the smartest and cutest grands in the world. So now that I have taken care of that...here are pics of the day.....
Such beautiful weather, we decided to eat outside...
Easter baskets waiting to be filled with the hidden eggs from the Easter bunny.
(My gd was upset that her basket at home had eggs with candy inside....)
See the hidden egg?
Don't worry....there was candy!
Let the hunt begin!!
As my son said....granddaughter skunked grandson!!
That is what they wanted from the Easter Bunny!!
Hey...I would take that from the Easter Bunny too!!
Their uncle made sure the candy was covered!!
And yes, there was food!!...Traditional to our family.
My granddaughter before they left, comes up to me and says, "Grandma, I am excellent at finding eggs!" Yep, that's my girl!!
We had a wonderful time!! I just had to share!
