Don't have to ask me twice!!
I LOVE Payson....just enough north to be cooler but not too long to get there!
It was a wonderful day. We ate out on a patio with Bentley with us. Went walking by the lake in town...met some great new friends, and I got a private tour of a scrapbooking store!
Life is GOOD and I want to live it!
We always take Bentley to the park....he is in smell heaven! This time I took a picture of the monument to fallen Firefighters.
This is the old hotel. I have never taken a tour...but I will one day...
Look at all that yumminess!
This is the lake. I am sure it has a name...but I don't know it.
I think this was a herron...
Going into the weeds for some food I am sure...
Heading back from Strawberry and Pine.
This is a horrible picture....but oh, what a story. There is a FABULOUS scrapbooking store in Payson. I always stop by for eye candy. But they were closed being Sunday. I was looking in the window....(oh Adrienne - you are going to LOVE this story....)
I saw the Advent cookie sheet calendar. Remember, Karen and I made these. So I wanted to get a picture.
As I am trying to take the picture, this woman says, oh, do you like those things? Well, everyone is friendly in Payson and I said, oh, I always come to this store when up from Phoenix. I thought at least I would look in the window. She says...and I kid you not....Well, let's go in....I look at her, and she smiles and says....I am the owner! I was going NUTS inside.....
So I went in...Barb couldn't turn on the computer, so I couldn't buy anything....but oh, the classes they have are fantastic. If you go to Payson, you have to stop by Paper and Metal Scrappers.
No, I didn't forget to show this in my last post.....I got it in Pine. There is an antique store I LOVE there, and it was open. I always find something there and can afford it. This must be coffee grinder month!
But, how big is it???
Oh, my goodness....I was in love. And it was on sale!
Ok...go back to the lake. A couple with their friend were walking their dog. Bentley had a friend....so we got to talking. (NO shock for me!) They told me they moved to Payson on the hill 12 years ago. We started talking about the antique stores and she said, you should see my pieces. I said, ok, does today work? so....at 3:00 my hubby and I went up the hill to their beautiful home on the mountain. Their dog MaiTai and Bentley got along famously, well, I think she didn't appreciate him drinking all her water, but otherwise, good. We looked at her family pieces, and sat on their deck overlooking the mountain. It was beautiful. We have new friends now, thank you Kris and Pete and MaiTai.
I can't wait to go back to Payson. It is growing and changing too fast for me....so I gotta enjoy it while I can! By the way.....best Dollar Tree in AZ as far as I have found!!

What a great trip. How lucky could you get to run into the owner of the store?
That sounds like so much fun, Ceekay. The owner sounds like a very nice person too. I love days like that with my hubby.
Sounds like a wonderful day ... they come far too often I think.
Hi there, just came over from Linda's. I saw your comment and had to tell you that it sounds like you and I have the same tattoos!
Sounds like you had a ball on your little trip.
Have a great week. xo
What a fun story. A special tour of a closed store and new friends that you really connected with-what can be better than that? xo Diana
Sounds like a perfect day! It's good to take a day trip every so often. How fun to be given the private tour and to meet new friends...I didn't even know people were still this friendly!
How cool, a scrapbooking store all to yourself. Paper Heaven!

Looks like you had a wonderful day! Sometimes little road trips like this are the best way to enjoy and explore!
NOw I gotta take a trip up there for this scrapbook shop. :) Love that lake hubby and I go there every time we are up there. I am going to have to stop into their dollar tree soon.
My brother has a cabin we stay at once in a while up where the "Dude" fire was years ago. They lost their first cabin in the fire, but now they have a much bigger place and we love to stay there........for free!
Hugs,
Meri
I haven't been to Payson in years but after reading your blog I'm ready to go real soon! It will be nice to get out of the heat for a day so I'm looking forward to it.
Sorry I don't know anyone who needs a 4-poster bed at the moment but I will keep it in mind.
Gosh, I havn't been to Payson in years, need to make a trip. Sounds like such fun and I love the coffee grinder. Hugs, Marty

Wow what a wonderful day for you.. I love making these type of memories...
Ceekay, when I read Payson I thought, "Did she come to Utah?". We have a Payson too. Just 40 or so min. away from my home. Sounds like you had so much fun. And made new friends to boot! Love, love the vintage grinders.
hugs,
Jann
Looks like a beautiful day trip! Great photos. I'm so glad you were able to go inside the scrapbook shop.

Looks like a lovely place to visit. It's always nice to go on trips and get a chance to do some fun shopping and meet new people!
Wow, those are some friendly people! And it looks like a lovely spot. :)
What a great, restorative mini get-away for you & your hubby, CK! All the times I've been to AZ to visit my sister, I've never gotten to Payson. I'll have to ask her if she was even aware of it.
Did I tell you that she moved to Maui after her husband died? Still has her house in Gilbert...rented it out via an agency. She is having the time of her life! Much like you, she makes the best of every single day & appreciates the little things that make it special.
What a fun day for you and making new friends made it extra special!
Now I'd say that was one fantastic day-trip. So glad you had such a nice day, Ceekay.
Hey new friend! How neat to reread about our fun meeting. Yes, It was friends at first sight! Talk about enthusiastic. You go girl. It's called Green Valley Lake and coincidentally in Green Valley Park! Yes, they are herons. I'll be going to my second class of Thai Chi at that very place at 6:00 tonight. Pete and Mai tai will sit in the shade after their walk.So much cooler than Phoenix! (sorry to remind you :( ) Love the melted cone.
Oh, I guess I am too verbose...Our neighbor called to tell us Blue Bell is on sale at Walgreens so I am in the second day of my ice cream diet. Tried vanilla last night with a splash of Drambui. Are you kidding me? (it's super aged..it was my dad's)
