Wednesday Stuff! - Edit with a question

I thought I would add a question. I am getting emails from I believe a phishing account. I moderate my comments and I delete them, but is there a way to stop this? If you have had this problem I would appreciate any assistance. I don't know why all of a sudden I am having this problem. Until I figure out a better way I am going to have to put back the word verification. Maybe that will help. I am sorry to those who hate it...I do to, but I don't know what else to do........Thanks.....and on with my post!

I thought I would answer some questions on my auction purchase. This is a 19th century atomizer. Menthol would be put in the bottom of the crock and hot water poured over to make a mist. The glass inhaler on the top would go in the person's mounth and they would breathe in the vapors. It is from England and on line is selling in mint condition for about 70 dollars US. Mine is not in mint condition.....which I personally can relate to!

There is a "tube" of crockery to the back to let out excess steam.

This is as clear as I could get the writing...but this is what sold me on the piece

My husband bid on some crockery for me. He got the gold rimmed piece along with 2 other plain 2 quart crocks for $10.00. I didn't KNOW I need the gold one, but now that I have it, I don't know what I did without it!

Yesterday I had to go to the doctor, so we stopped at a gourmet grocery store. I picked up some heirloom tomatoes. I see them on Barefoot Contessa and have been wanting to try them. My husband wouldn't even think about trying them.....but they were delicious. Especially the brown one!

I mixed some slices of each with mozzerella pieces in garlic oil. Yum!
There you have it....a big exciting day in the life of Ceekay!!! I am feeling really quite well right now and enjoying every moment!! The windchime in the backyard is chiming and Valerie Parr Hill is talking on QVC....now, can YOU beat that excitement?
Have a good day!

Silly man! They look luscious, sugar! I went to our nursery yesterday and picked up some "super sweet" corn seeds to plant. Hubs just looked at me and said we didn't have room for corn. I said, "Make room, we've planting these!" LOL He will, chickee!

Connie
Hope you're feeling well today...

It's a prettier looking contraption then the old misters we used in our bedrooms - growing up.

Yea, that tomato salad sounds wonderful - minus the garlic... Garlic and I have issues.

Glad you're feeling well.

That is an interesting piece. I have a few pieces of crockery and some modern day pottery on a shelf in my living room. Mother had a pitcher similar to the one you show. I think it is a gallon size. I have that one now.
I'm glad you're feeling well.

You got some fun stuff there. In the lobby of the Phx Baptist Hosp. there is a HUGE display of antique medical supplies. It is really fascinating! If you like that kind of thing.
And I do! :)

Your tomatoes look perfectly healthy and yummy!Glad to hear you are feeling good!!! :)

I love the atomizer! What a find.
The writing on it does add to it.
Yes, I hate the word verification!
I hope your problem gets solved and you get to remove it soon. (smile)

The tomatoes look DIVINE! YUM! Glad you are feeling good - we are walking EVERYWHERE and my feet hurt - but that is OK!
NO STORES! Unless you want designer antique store - which I don't - so we'll figure out something else to do tomorrow.
Love and hugs. Me

Hi Ceekay,
Oh the exciting things we do! Those tomatoes look so perfect they look fake! The salad looks good too. In my book it's not what we're doing but how we're doing it. Have fun!

I wish I could help you with the spam, but I don't know what to tell you. I put comment moderation on comments that are older than five days.

Checking up on you to see how you are, girl! I hope to be blogging again soon if they workmen would only cooperate. We had some setbacks, but I hope that's over soon.

Thanks for the information on the inhaler. Very interesting! I'm not a tomato eater, so glad you enjoyed them. I'd be like your husband and pass them up. LOL

Hi Honey,

Love your crocks! I used to have a very, VERY old whiskey jug crock on my front porch till somebody stole it! Grrrrrr! :( Never found another one like it.

We have heirloom tomato plants we started from seeds in our sunroom right now, just waiting for warmer weather to plant them outside. You can wash & save the seeds from your heirlooms that you bought & start your own plants from them. I hope you haven't used them all up by now.

Hi Ceekay, I love the knobbly look of those tomatoes and find them much more pretty than the regular ones.
The atomizer has been a great find at the auction.
Have a lovely afternoon!

I get those phishers here and there too. Usually on older posts. I just delete them. Seems like they come in big batches of a few a day for a week or so, then none for months at a time.
