I promised Nana Diana that I would tell the story of the white hat.
The lady who brought this hat made it with her sister. They were visiting and she told her sister about the contest. The sister said, "Let's make one out of mom's old hat." They picked the white hat and went through their mom's old silk flower collection. They had never made a hat before, and they giggled and chatted away.
Two days later this ladies sister passed away unexpectedly. It is the last time they spent together, saw each other....making the hat.
Yes, we were all in tears.

Well, now I am in tears, too. What a precious story and I am sure the other sister will treasure that hat forever. I hope she can display it somewhere to remind her of her sister every time she sees it.
YOUR HAT is gorgeous, Ceekay. You did a wonderful job! xo Diana

What a bitter sweet story about your friend and her sister. When our loved ones are gone those are the precious memories that we treasure.

Love your hat but the hat story really touches my heart. We never know when we will lose someone dear to us. It's so important to take every chance we have to treasure time and memories together.

Oh my word, the white hat story is such a reminder to pay attention every day and enjoy every day. I am thrilled she has such last memories.

So pretty and a lively hat. Precious memories for the sister -- I would imagine a very tearful story telling.

Oh, that is a bittersweet story about the sisters. At least they got to spend that time together. Your hat is gorgeous! I love anything with burlap and I love bird nests too. Great job!
