Mosaic Aggravation!

Today is Mosaic Monday at Mary's. Now this probably won't make much sense to most of you...but let me explain. Last evening, our friends Candy and Richard came over to eat some goodies and play a game. I didn't know that Candy was bringing Aggravation. I haven't played this game in YEARS! We had such a great time, but I told them, I have my daddy's Aggravation game that was handmade over 50 years ago. So of course, I had to get it. My dad's initials are on the corner of the board, which is really, wood! How time has changed! Well, Richard won both games even though I tried my best to knock him and my husband off many times! It was soooo fun!
And...to all my doggie lover friends....we were so proud of Bentley. He took to having company just fine. No growling....he really is coming around so much...we are so pleased!!

I have played that game twice recently. On a home made wood board, too. It gets crazy and will laugh uncontrollably.
How great you have the board your Dad made.
Glad you had a good evening.

Hi Ceekay. I've never heard of that game, but so glad you had a great time! I like to play board games too but Mr. Precious is not so patient!
I'm so proud of little Bentley! You're being a very good mommy teaching him so well. Give him an extra treat today! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

A very nice game post. I am not familiar with that game. My great grandson (5yrs)teaches me a new one each time I am with him. Guess I am just behind times. Thanks for your visit to my place today.

Hi Ceekay
I looked everywhere for a Parcheesi (hope I spelled that right) board to play the game with our grandchildren. We had one at home and it was lots of fun. I finally found a guy at a craft festival who makes Aggravation boards out of wood and said the two games are played about the same. I can hardly wait to try it out.
Glad you still have the board your Dad made.

What a neat heirloom!

I was reading your post below this one. I don't know where in Michigan you're from. Honey Bear is flying up today to Detroit and driving to Coldwater. I've gone up with him a couple of times. Fall is my favorite time of year and we went one Fall and stayed over the weekend. We went to a festival where they had all kinds of apples for sale. Such fun!

Uncle Frank made that? How cool! What a keeper.

Didn't Uncle Arnold used to make those, too?

I loved playing Aggravation...but I haven't seen it in years.

Cool pictures.

Aggravation was one of the games our family played frequently when I was a child. Too fun that you have your dad's board! Good for Bentley for being a good boy.

OH MY GOSH!
CeeKay - I have my GRANDPA'S!!!! He made it on a board just like yours!! I've never seen another like it - until this!
I wonder where that is . . . I think it is in my Grandma's suitcase up in the rafters of the garage. I've begged Mark to bring it down, but it's kinda buried up there and would take quite a feat to get down. sigh.
My Grandpa taught me to play canasta. I loved playing with them.
Thanks for the memories! This was great.
Have a great evening! Karen

I have gameboard made by my dad as well. Everyone in our family has one, we even took one to my son in Taiwan when we visited two years ago. We play it with dice but most of time with cards (you can plan your moves then). K and A are get out cards. 4 makes your marbles go backwards. You deal 5 cards to each player first round, 4 next round on cards are done. Cards are discarded to a pile when round of play is done. Once all cards in the deck have been played, the next person deals out the new deck. Hope that is clear, if you have questions, I will come back to see.
