Don't you love Cracker Barrel and even more, sales???
This scarecrow was the last one and 50% off...so he had to come home with me.
I just love scarecrows!
I am always a little sad when I have to pack them up until next year...
I had a very productive weekend. Got a little Christmas shopping done, and got a few things that needed fixing done around the home. Don't you love when that happens. I tell my hubby all the time that real romance is doing little things for me around the house!!

More of my Kitchen and Fall!
I know a few months ago, there was a meme to show your kitchen. I did not join in. You see, I have kitchen envy. Let me explain..
I love all the big gorgeous kitchens...and when we were looking for our current home, that was not high on my list. You see, cooking, although I can do quite well, is not one of my favorite things. I would much prefer to go out to eat!
Now, that being said, I love my kitchen. It is beautiful to me....but here is where the envy comes in. I see all your beautiful vignettes...all the cute collections and displays. Well, my hubs lives here. He makes sure he tell me that occasionally. And although he is very generous and pretty much lets me do what I want, there are just some things that cannot be in his home. The counter tops...in his man opinion are there for his convenience. The bread, must be by the toaster which stays out all the time. The salt and pepper, oils....by the stove....the coffee maker (which we both love our Keurig) is in one corner and the other side of the counter???? aren't you anxious to hear what glorious thing abides there!!! His ever growing collection of vitamins. Now, so you don't think I haven't tried, I have bought baskets to hold the bread...which that works....but the vitamins...NOPE. He wants them in their bottles lined up in the order he wants them. I SURRENDER!!!
All that being said, I thought I would show my kitchen. Minus the vitamin corner!
See, I snuck in a little vignette...my wedding silver tray and my cute apple cutting board!
We LOVE our granite!

This spot stays clear when I am not cooking...otherwise, it is full!!! To the right of this pic is the vitamins....
I thought since I was being real, I would show my fridge....yep, I KNOW....not decorator magazine worthy...but I have taken all the magnets down....and gradually, they all come back. So, again, why fight it....????
My dream for this kitchen 2o11 is for a new goose neck faucet. The faucet I hace in a Moen and works great...but I just don't like it. You know how that goes!!

Top of my Cupboards
Tuesday is Tabletop Tuesday at Marty's.
Marty is always begging me to show the tops of my cupboards. So today is the day. I have shown them before...but it has been a while.
My love for old kitchen items started when I was first married and continues still. I don't have much room for anything else, but that won't stop me I am sure!
I have milk bottles from Michigan and Wisconsin. The old crate is a Pepsi Cola one....and the milk holder was found in the attic of one of our homes. The Twin Pines Bottle and brown one is sitting on an old milking stool.
Then there are a few of my rolling pins...I have many more in a crock. The old bowls were collected in Wisconsin...
The God Bless our Home, my uncle Ray made in High School Shop. He is 80 now. The apple cookie jar was my grandma's...The Betty Crocker cookbook was my mom's as well as the cookie cutter. The egg scale was an aution find. The blue country cupboard was a birthday gift from my dear Aunt Barb.....Those are a full size and child size Fiesta pitcher.....with the platter hanging. One of my precious scales....I would love more of them.
There is an old mixer that I found one piece at a time. My aunt's old campfire toaster. The lemonade glasses were bought at a garage sale and later my husband found the holder for them. The wooden box was a gift from a dear neighbor in Wisconsin.
See my new Trading stamp box....by my collection of old tins. The cracker one was my mom's and the coffee ones came out of my grandpa's garage. See the little spice rack hanging on the wall....my hubby bought that from a farm auction for $1.00. So many people wanted to buy it from him, but he said he knew I would want it. The old bowl was my grandma's that my mom used at her home for baking...inside is her old springerle cookie pin. Last is an old dish drainer with cookbooks from wartime...what to make with rationed foods!

So, there you go Marty. She said she would like to go shopping from my small antiques....but, sorry, no, that can't happen.
As my husband says....oh, you are showing part of your 10,000 personal friends???
Yep..that is right!!

Such a Great Saturday!
Today was so much fun. Marty from A Stroll Thru Life...and I met up with Liz from Rose Vignettes. We met for lunch and of course, some shopping. Oh, did we have fun. We went to a discount Fabric store, a Shabby chic store and several resale shops. You can imagine how much financial trouble us three could get into, but actually, we all behaved pretty well. Although we all did buy something!
My beautiful roses have opened up some more. They are so beautiful..
This is one of my purchases. It is the front of a lock box from a post office. Most of you don't know that I worked in Wisconsin for the PO as a civilian clerk. One of the hardest and most stressful jobs I have ever had. But I did it! and when I saw this and it was affordable...I had to have it. Putting the mail in the lockboxes was one of my daily jobs.
I have to show you this fabulous find. It was in one of the resale shops. Have you ever seen anything like this? Now my mom and grandma always collected the green stamps....but neither had a holder. It is metal, I am sure probably from the 50's. I told Liz that one of us had to have it...she said I had a bigger heart attachment to it...so that was it. I bought it. Now I need to find a book and some stamps to put in it. Don't you think it is cute????
First I just thought I would show some pics around my home. I love these candle holders. I know Tale of an OC cottage has them also, but hers are now white.....I left mine brown. I have never seen any others since I found these. If I ever do, I am buying some for gifts....
I went to Walmart this evening and they had that Fall tray that many of you have picked up for $7.00. I refrained when it was 9.00, but 7.00, no way I was leaving without one again. It matches the chargers I bought there last year.
Oh, don't you just love a fun day with girlfriends. I tell you, I just love Marty and Liz and 3 years ago we never knew each other existed. If you get the chance to meet up some blog friends definately do it....it is wonderful memories being made the whole time!!

Wednesday, Wednesday!
Not too much happening here at Ceekay's place. I did do some crafting yesterday, but can't share that yet!
Remember the garage sale. Candy had these cute little fences for sale...so I grabbed one. They were rusty and white...I got out the trusty spray paint and Voila! I love it!!!

And you know I had to show off my pumpkin Bentley. He was so good on Halloween and loved seeing all the kids. Yesterday while my hubby and I were working on a light in the front yard, he sat in the doorway and watched...last year he would have bolted! Just a little bragging on our little buddy!

Mom Cave for Me!
Susan is hosting a marvelous Mom Cave giveaway from HomeGoods. I currently have a bedroom that I call my room. It has my mother's hopechest and many of my teacups and teapots. My husband bought me a lovely fainting couch that is often where I sit while chatting long distance to my girlfriends.

Although I really like this room, I desperately need a desk. I love to do scrapbooking and altering bottles and journals and I do not have a sturdy surface to do it on. I would love having a place where I could work on it and not have to put everything away.
Crafting has become very important to me since I had to take an early medical retirement. It gives me an outlet to feel creative and also to make gifts for friends.
Of course, along with the desk would be some items to corral all those supplies. And I would also love to find a footstool to take the load off!!
Here are some ideas of items from HomeGoods...
