Just Keepin' It Real!

Let's all say "UGH" together now.......

So Marty does the top of a packing box with the decorative items inside technically count as a tabletop?  Oh, I know, Tabletop DEconstructed!  I hear it is all the rage!
I had to show my birthday present from Marty....Isn't he adorable.  Ok, here comes a hint...he will go perfect with the color of my new/old kitchen!!

Thank you all for your words of encouragement.  I am doing ok....and I know Home is where your heart is....I just have to remember to pack it, in one of these dozens of boxes!!

Shameslessly again joining Marty for Tabletop Tuesday - Deconstructed and House in the Roses....for Show off Your Cottage - Deconstructed at Cielo's.

Changes for Ceekay!

I know I have hinted that we had some things that needed much thought and prayer, and they were not about my health.  I have questioned whether I should blog about it, or even if I should continue to blog.  But after speaking with some of my closest blog friends, they encouraged me to continue blogging.  So I will share what has been going on.

In a sentence, my husband and I are moving.  As I tell you this, there is a big hole in my heart because I love our home and thought it was my last home.  But after months of consideration and weighing the pros and cons, we have decided to move closer to my doctors, my husband's work, and to go into a gated 55plus community.  And downsizing.  Now, my current home isn't all that big...my new one, much smaller.  I won't even go into the crying and begging God to give me a joyful spirit.

No, I am not thrilled about it.  I could lie...but I think that things being what there are for so many of us, that would not be a help to anyone.  The reality is...things being what they are, me no longer being able to work, and my husband drawing closer to retirement....we believe it is the right choice, and the choice that the Lord seems to be drawing us to.

As you know, I am quite the sentimental person.  My husband has always said I have 10,000 personal friends...my stuff!  Well, you can't put 10 pounds of flour in a 2 pound  bag...if you get my drift...so some things have got to go.  This is why I have been cleaning and reorganizing, and now packing.

I am hoping that you will still want to follow my blog.  My blog is mostly about my home...and that is not going to change.  It may not be grand, but it will still be my home, my joys, my frustrations, be it different.  I hope you will continue to follow along.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.  Moving while being on chemo was not on my list for 2012.....but it must have been on God's!  We have been amazed at how He has answered some specific prayers regarding our new place.  I will share those with you as this journey continues....

Well, going to go for now...no pictures, just boxes, and boxes, and, well...you get the idea!

We will be doing the actual move the middle of April.

Unmeasurable Gratitude

Last Friday a group of AZ bloggers met for lunch.  We had a lovely time, just catching up with each other.

Laura from Decor to Adore came in and said she had a gift for me.....
She came over and showed me these pictures....

Mr. Decor to Adore and their son walked/climbed for the cancer walk here in Phoenix.

I was so thrilled that Laura was telling me about this wonderful event....and then

She gave me
and showed me that they walked in my name.....

There was definately water works all around.  I was so touched that a man and boy who I have never personally met would do this for me.  There are no words to tell you how much it meant to both me and my husband....

There I am....to the left of the sun...CK!!!

Is Blogger TRYING to Drive Me Crazy?

Just asking?

First, Piknik goes away....

Then I have NO IDEA (and I am not exaggerating!) on what is happening with Google Friends.  So I added 2 other Friends thingys....It doesn't seem to be helping though!

And now when I try to leave a comment, I have to do doggie tricks and try to figure out what in the world those letters are!  Now remember I just had a birthday and it is not easy to see those letters!  So I hate to do it, but I just am going to have to stop commenting if bloggers have that step.

Blogging is supposed to be enjoyable!

And you all do know that I do not believe there are real people at Blogger.  I mean, have you ever tried to really talk to one???

So, today, along with a stuffy nose.....I am trying to keep my sanity!  Anyone want to join me?

Seeing Double

I woke up this morning to a surprise waiting for me on my counter.  My husband said he could NOT resist.   My husband hasn't brought me a stuff animal in years.  I sure do treasure this one!

I think Bentley is a little confused!

I love me some Birthday Presents!

Well, I finally feel myself again.  I hate being sick!

I wanted to share my birthday presents.  A girl has to enjoy her presents!!

Rose from A Hint of Home sent me this picture holder.  It goes into your computer USB and lights up.  I have never seen anything like it...

She also sent me these star battery tea lights.  I had remarked how cute they were on her blog.

My dear Aunt Barb who just celebrated her 83rd birthday sent me this recipe book from her Senior group!
I love it!!

Lynn from Shabby Story sent me this adorable card and piece of framed lace....it is so pretty!!

At Flemings...they always give you a dessert and a signed card for your birthday...

The flamingo and card is from Candy at Sweet Meanderings.  She knows I fell in love with the beach in Juno beach....

The CK signs are a gift from Katherine at Yellow Rose Arbor.  They are so glittery....What a special surprise!

and my bracelet from my husband....it is Tri-color gold....

I think I was spoiled!!!  Thank you all!!

Itsy Bitsy....

spider Hoarder COLLECTOR!

I wanted to share some "personal friends" as my hubby calls them.  You know, stuff that you keep for whatever reason......
I think they are unique and will make me a millionaire someday!!!!!  Yah, right!

Anyways....I know where they are, I like them, and I am keeping them...just to make a disclaimer to some unnamed male person that lives here, and it isn't Bentley!!

Can you guess what company these were from.  My mom LOVED their products!

The Fuller Brush company.  Now, I am going to do a Shelia...and say...wasn't it clever of me to put the Fuller brush letter openers on a brush?!!?!

If you have been to this place you will know instantly where these are from.
Zenders in Frankenmuth Michigan....it comes in the dish of ice cream mixed with orange sherbet.
Yeah, like you would part with them??  I don't think so either!

Now I ask you?  How many of you kept some of the "olden" coffee spoons from McDonalds.  You know they can't use them anymore right...and you know why...right??

This was a pencil my daddy used.  He got it from a building supply store...probably in the 40's.

see...the little ladder moves up and down...too cute!

You have any little treasures that someday are going to be worth a fortune??  or at least a good tug at the heart?  I KNOW you DO!!
