Went to the oncologist yesterday and it was not the funnest visit. I will no longer be taking the research drug that I was on. It is just too hard on my liver.
Sooo, tomorrow, October 31st, the 7th anniversary of my cancer surgery....I will be going on the very first chemo I ever had. They give it once a week for 3 weeks, one week off. We are praying that this will knock the cancer back.
I am not happy about this, of course there is some fear, but, I really have no choice.
I am telling you all this because I started blogging AFTER I had this chemo....maybe I will do better than before. But if it kicks my butt, I won't be able to blog much. I am hoping that it will be easier as the doctor keeps telling me, but I really don't know. Please continue to keep me in your prayers.
Enjoy life bloggers. Don't get upset by the wrinkles and the birthday numbers. Try to do something worth doing each day, have fun, love your people.......because as I sit in that chemo chair, I look around at all the people that are literally fighting to have more time. Life is so precious!
AND......for all of you that celebrate Halloween........

Bad Blogger, Bad Blogger!
I just didn't blog last week. No reason. I read some blogs. Part of the problem is it is our spring, so I have been slowly busy (now there is a description!) on getting the yard back in shape...planting flowers, cleaning the patio....etc.
I thought you might enjoy seeing what people see if they come to our side door....which is where most of the neighbors come to.
I did "splurge" and bought some boo pumpkins for my kitchen. I sprayed them with poly....so they hopefully will make it until Thanksgiving.
Chemo tomorrow...so hopefully see you later in the week!
Can the bad blogger come out of the corner now???

My Aunt Ida
My mom was one of eight children. There is only 3 left here on earth, and my Aunt Ida will be 95 in January. She is on the downside of life now, waiting to rejoin her husband, son, and family in Heaven. She had to go into a care facility.
Aunt Ida is the keeper of family papers and things. She taught me piano, well, at least tried. She met my to be husband, the same night as my mom....they were playing Yahtzee. Sometimes, she would run me to the store, before I could drive, let me shop at Federals Dept. store, and then come take me home. I think she is an amazing woman.
My cousin cleaned out her apartment and sent family members things that would mean something to them. I was tickled. Let me show you a few things....
This is a doily she made. Didn't know she knew how to do that!
Postcards my mom sent to her....2 cents postage...about 1955.
I bought my Aunt Ida this German/English devotional book for her 90th birthday....
My grandpa and grandma read the Bible every night together in German.
This is a pic of a pic, but this is my Grandpa and Grandma. I miss them every day, seriously, I really do. Grandpa was so strong and Grandma so quiet....sometimes!
I think this was my favorite item.....it was a Christmas card from my Mom and Dad. I must have been very young. There is no date....but this is the part that shocked me....
The card has the names printed. I NEVER knew my mom EVER did that. I am so framing this. I received several other items...it was a bit of memory lane.
I Love you, Aunt Ida.

1st Fall
This is my Fall decor on my TV cabinet top. This is the closet thing to a mantle I have. I made the sweater pumpkins I made a couple of years ago with Mary of Mary's Meanderings. I just felt neutral decor this year and I really am happy with how it turned out.

Therapy!
Yep, that is what I need......serious therapy!
After I whittled down 7 Harvest boxes to 4....my HUBBY got inspired and brought 11 Christmas tubs for me to go through.
Thank God I LOVE HIM!
So, I am surrounded by Christmas. My goal is 6 tubs....and I have been brutal, but somethings, even though I don't still decorate with it, I am finding it hard to part with it.
UGH!
sorry, no pic.....trust me, it is better that way!

Saturday Estate Sale Finds
There were only 3 sales in our area this week. That is really unusual. Normally there is at least 6-8.
But I did find a few goodies!
I have so wanted a lighter color bedspread in our room. I was over the Terra Cotta. We went to this sale and here was this chenille bedspread marked $2.00. But when I took it up the lady said oh no, that is $25.00. Several people have wanted it. I said, well, they didn't buy it because it is mismarked, which is not my problem. So the man at the register said, how about $5.00? OK!
See that gorgeous pillow. We went to Garden Ridge this morning cuz I had a coupon....and my hubby found it. I just love it!
This is some of the pattern on the chenille.
And it has fringe along the edge. It isn't perfect.....but I love it. You know those bedspreads that come with the shams and things....that is what I had, and let me tell you....they get heavy. I didn't want anything heavy anymore.
Ok, I stood and looked at this for a bit, I have NEVER seen before....but it was $2.00 and I had to have it!
It is like a hand held washboard....
I told you I had to have it!
Don't ask me why.....but this appealed to me. Maybe I will find a small bench or something to use it on....
Doilies were 50 cents...
There we 3 there....I bought them.
All in all, a great day of finds!!
