A Drive to the Mountains

I have wanted to go up to the White Tanks for a couple of weeks, but as you know, wasn't up to it. So today my husband and I went for a ride up there. It was gorgeous. Unfortunately, we missed the peak of the wildflowers, but it still has much beauty. I hope you enjoy the pictures, especially as we come upon Easter and think of the Great God and Creator we have!

It is especially green this year from all the rain! We probably won't see this again for a while!

I love this picture......this is the wild west at it's best!

This is a bloom on a cactus.

There is beauty in the desert. Different beauty....but beauty all the same!
Kat - you would have loved it!

Where Debbie Creates - Met Monday

I have a friend at church that just did something so sweet for me. I wanted to thank her, but I couldn't go out shopping. So I took the pictures of her lovely craft room, had them developed and made a mini tag album for it.....so for Met Monday I am going from nothing to.....

I am so pleased with how it turned out. The tags were acrylic. I had never worked with that medium before...but I like it! And she loved it!

Used only items I had on hand.....which gives you a clue of how much I have "on hand"!

Will be at the oncologist Monday to see if I am handling the lesser dose better. I know I feel like I am handling this dose better.

Will I ever get caught up on my blogging????? Please, don't answer that!!! Ignorance IS really sometimes bliss!!

My Show and Tell - on a pole

When Tom and Rose were here we took a drive through the Apache Trail. I showed you the pictures a few posts ago. Anyways, when we were coming back I said to my husband...do you see that on those poles. Well, it took a few pointing out, but eventually he saw what I saw, old insulators. I was in shock. I can't believe they are still there. Well, I just had to have a picture. After much screaming on my part....going on roads that I don't consider a road....I got my pictures.

But see the really fun part is that I have an old insulator. For YEARS! It was such fun to see one on the electric pole!

I bought this stand for it years ago in Wisconsin.

It has its place on my shelf above the entertaiment center with all my other old "stuff"!

Don't forget to check out the other Show and Tell's at Cindy's and My Favorite Things Saturday at Laurie's. I am going to try my best to visit everyone.

Please be patient with me....

I am just not myself right now. My body is trying to adjust to this new chemo drug and honestly...it has my butt draggin! I hope to be doing regular posts and visiting soon. I have done some, but if you haven't heard from me, it is because although it seems hard to believe, I just don't feel like typing.

I thought I would show you one of my birthday presents I got from my Princess party. This fantastic gift was from Candy and Amy, two of my dearest friends here in AZ. They bought me a stereoscope. I have wanted one for years, but I wanted one with all working parts.

The beginnings of the View Master!

This one has a beautifully clear patent from 1909. It is almost in perfect condition.

Karen , Some Days are Diamonds, when she came to visit me brought me this adorable card for it! Such a precious picture.

I have it sitting on top of my old trunk in the Living Room.

My dear, dear friend Misty called me this morning. She is my DIL that I didn't get....but I love as if I did. Her sweet mom went garage saleing and found me something else I have been looking for. I get it at church tomorrow. I am soooo excited. I will show you next week.

I hope you all had a great week and are having a relaxing and/or productive weekend. Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement. I miss so much visiting with all of you, but you know, my Blogroll is long and my body is blah!

I am hoping for a better week next week. Hope springs eternal, you know!!

Happy "Green" to y'all!

I am once again this week spending the day in the chemo chair...it is going ok. So no green celebrating for me...but that is ok, as I don't usually celebrate St. Patricks Day. I hope all of you are having a great week. I hope next week I can get into the groove again and do some more posts. The weather, I hear!, is gorgeous here in AZ....I think spring is definately here!

Canyon Lake and Apache Trail, AZ

Oh Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
consider all the worlds thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
thy power throughout, the universe displayed

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to thee
How Great thou Art
How Great thou Art
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to thee
How Great thou Art
How GREAT thou Art!

I am still on Planet Earth, I promise!!

I know I have been missing in action this past week. We have had so much fun sightseeing and shopping with Rose and hubby Tom. I have some great pictures to download of all our fun. But I did want to check in...tell you all I will visit soon and that I am feeling good. Unfortunately, I don't know WHEN I will get to do that, as I am starting the new chemo Monday. I am taking my laptop, so if I am feeling good, I will get caught up then! I have missed our chats!!
My pictures today are random, but we all love pictures, don't we??

This wonderful jar of buttons belongs to a friend of mine. I find this quite yummy!

This is her lovely creation room. I am just showing this hutch because it is just too lovely for words! To see it in person is just to drool for!!!

This gorgeous tree was one on the Home Tour my friend Misty and I did last Sunday. You just do not see huge, and I mean huge trees like this in Phoenix...at least not where I have been!

It had sooo many arms. Just wonderful!

This is the great sign from that Home Tour walk. It was pouring, but worth every minute!
Have a wonderful weekend and I will be back as soon as I can!!

A Little Bit of Blue Left!

For many years my home was done in Country style. And my colors were Country blue and Burgandy. When we moved to our new home 3 years ago, my husband wanted a change. So out went most of the country. But some things I couldn't part with. My Salt Glazed items were one of those collections.

Although I don't have a lot of pieces, the ones I have are special to me. Especially these two small crocks. I purchased them 25 years ago in Gettysburg on a wonderful trip I took.

I have mentioned before that I adore things with the Alphabet on them....isn't this cup precious?

These pieces were flea market finds...the one of the right, really a fake, but I found it at GW when I was shopping with Cindy, Karen, Marty, and Sherry.

I love this little dish. I need to find a stand to put it with the rest of the pieces....

I am linking up with Marty for Tabletop Tuesday and Sally for Blue Monday. I have company coming in on Tuesday, so if I don't get to visiting right away, I promise, I will. I hope everyone has a wonderful week and see a bit of spring around the corner. It is absolutely gorgeous here in the Phoenix area. Except for the rain that is heading our way. We never have rain...but we are getting more than our share this year. I DO have outside plans Sunday afternoon...I hope they don't get rained out.
*Added: it did pour rain all day...but my dear friend Misty and I went to the Windsor Historic homes tour. It was fantastic! Talk about talented people! Not allowed to take pictures, but it was definately an enjoyable afternoon....**
