Lighting Up My World, One Lamp at a Time!

It is Show and Tell at No Place Like Home. Almost didn't get to post this...we were in the dark for several hours! Power finally came back on! Yeah for electricity!!

If you all listen very carefully, I am sure you will hear my friend Candy laughing right now. You see we have had many a good laugh in the lamp departments of stores.

I have an addiction to many items, but two my husband has definately told me not to buy anymore! Not because he is mean, just because you only have so much room. Those two things....chairs and lamps. Now I need to be analysed as to why I love chairs and lamps. I mean, I did have them growing up so it wasn't like I was deprived or anything.

Anyways...shopping and seeing lamps....well, I can be downright embarrassing. I squeal, sometimes not so quietly, I wish, I moan....and for another reason I can't explain, the wilder the lamp...the more I tend to like it. Especially, what some might call garrish shades. The more fluff or dingle dangles the more I like them.

However, in my home...I have refrained myself and have what I would call calm lamps. I checked past blogs and I have never shown them...so today is your lucky day!

Oh and by the way....just because I shouldn't, doesn't mean I won't - bring another one into the house...no promises from this lamp/chair lover!

Lamp in the guestroom....it looks to me like "she" has her hands on her hip telling "him" what she thinks!
Little kitchen lamp
Outside patio lamp

Family room lamp - hmmm, needs swiffering!
Living room lamp
My room lamp
My room floor lamp
Our bedroom lamp....the picture doesn't do it justice, but these shades are the prettiest shade of rust when they are lit....

Oooh, oooh, I just noticed, I forgot the office lamp...well that will be another day!

I love the living room lamp, in need of swiffer or not! What a neat idea to show off all the lamps around your home.

Stop by my antique show n tell if you can. [you'll need to scroll down a bit since I added the Tropical Storm update of the damage done in Houston where my son lives on the top of my blog this morning! ---]

Happy weekend.

You are so funny. I love the part about hubby saying no more. (check my blog today). He is the same way when I go shopping too. Like you said, not because he is mean but it does get a little crowded sometimes. Well I love the lamps. I always say to my husband. It could be worse. At least our home is pretty and not dirty, messy and ugly. Be happy.

I love lamps (and chairs) my self! DH has told me... "No More!" as well. LOL! Oh well, just let him... ;-)

I love your lamps. I think every table needs a lamp. Every shelf, corner, etc, needs a lamp. (needs a chair too!) You have great lamps and next time your DH says no more lamps, you tell him your blog friends disagree...

Thanks for stopping by my blog and posting earlier!

What a neat lamp collection. I love unusual ones, too, and had to chuckle at the thought of the first one looking like it had its hands on its hips. It really does!

Very nice collection of lamps. As for info on making my wreath I just used my old hose and cut off from one end. Made a circle and tied together with wire. Wired and hot glued the nest and bird. When I had old gardening tool on it I wired them on too. Easy! Let me know if you make one. Love to see it!

Enjoyed your lamps. I too am a lamp lover. I like chairs too, but lamps better. Plus, they don't cost as much (usually). I have a lot of lamps. Someday I must go around and take pictures and post them. I get so many good ideas from reading other blogs.
We got a lot of rain last night, but our power didn't go off, thank goodness. It's such a pain to reset everything.

Thank you for stopping by to see me and leaving a lovely comment! I love the way you have decorated...very cozy...and that old school desk...I've always wanted one of those! Reminds me of when I was little and I would turn mine into a dollhouse to play with when the teacher wasn't looking! lol

I love your banner. The tea cups are so pretty.
I'm also a big lamp collecter. I think every table should have a pretty lamp and a book to make it feel like home. I might have to post some pictures of my lamps some day.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. If you are interested in more about digital scrapbooking, let me know and I can share some links.

I love all your lamps. I much prefer table lamps etc to central lighting in a room.

I also love your "screen"? will all the tea lights on it - must look lovely when they are all lit.

Have a lovely weekend.

I am lamp-void in this house! I need someone like you to take me on a lamp hunt! I stand there and look at them and just get so befuddled---I walk away. Hense, I am in need of an Extreme Lamp Makeover!!!!

Ceekay, beautiful lamps!! :) I was going to a "lamp" post for my show and tell too, but I ran out of time this week in taking pictures!

Thanks for your kind comment on my cross-stitch. I was encouraged to work into a few more stitches last night. ;)

I love the first and last lamps the best! Before I even read your comment on the first one I thought of a lady with her hands on her hips!

I love the lamps! I should take pics of the ones I have and share. :)

They are all lovely, not wild or garish at all. I thought at least your bedroom lamp would be wild.

I agree about the first one with her hands on her hips. Reminded me of Beauty and the Beast when the furniture comes alive.
