Happy Middle of the Week!

I have been washing and ironing, thinking and choosing on what to wear on my girlfriend's trip. My hubs has it so easy...he throws a change of clothes in a bag...and goes....

I wanted to post just a few little things new around my home. This mirror I have had in a closet for years. It is in an antique frame. I just finally sat it behind a crock with (gasp!) faux greens and a sweet old iron I found at an estate sale last week.

My hubby bought me this sweet honey pot from CB!

Too cute!

Found this creamer at one of the estate sales....$3.00. I know you red kitchen girls would love this!

I love this kind of kitchen piece....

Yep, we are still hot, still have not seen any rain. Even Bentley is unhappy about it. He looks longingly outside, but only goes for the necessities! He is an air-conditioning dog!!
Hope y'all aren't too hot and miserable....but we are getting to the home-stretch! Only 2 months to go and it should be perfect weather...that is why WE live in AZ -----October - May!!!

Not much going on.....

We had a fairly quiet weekend. Friday my friends came for lunch...I always enjoy time with the girls. Then our son came home for the weekend...he doesn't live that far away, but sometimes, I think he needs to be pampered...so we took him out to lunch after church today. The rest of the day we just chilled at home...with air conditioning!! and waiting for rain. I hear that does still exist! This week looks like a busy one. I have quite a few last minute things to do, including doctors visits before Marty, Jamie and I take off for California!!

Haven't done much shopping so I thought I would show my little table I have had about 35 years. My husband and I bought it in Frankenmuth MI....and it is a treasure of mine. The top is all inlaid. And when you open it up, it plays music.
So, if you don't hear from me much this week, just know that I am getting ready for our girlfriend's trip....I will try to post again before next week. I hope you all have a great week and not too hot!!

A Vintage Luncheon

This Friday I am having my dear friend Misty and her mom Debbie for lunch. Debbie loves vintage items, especially family pieces, so I put this tablesetting together that I think she will enjoy.

This tablecloth belonged to my mother....

These plates belonged to my husband's mother...

Silverware was my mom's....

Napkins are an estate sale find.

The pattern on the plates. I do not have a complete set....but it is perfect for 2 or 3....

The jewelry box was my mothers....I have pictures in the frames of my mom and my hubby's mom....

The box holds old handkerchiefs....and the perfume bottle, my husband bought for me when we were still in college.

These sweet Salt and Pepper my grandma brought back to me on one of her vacations....when I was about 10 or 11.

I put some vintage pieces in the jewelry box.

I have got to share this....the little ballerina dances....although, it hasn't worked for years....I played with it when I was a child....then my daughter did too....today when I took it out...it worked....I was so tickled....

I am looking forward to my lunch with my friends. I hope you enjoyed my vintage table. I am joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for her 100th Tablescape party!!

I had a Fantastic Weekend.....

I think I am on enjoyment overload!

Friday afternoon I went to lunch at my girlfriend Amy's home. Candy was there also. Amy is a school teacher and it is such a treat to have a day that we all can spend together. She absolutely went over the top with a beautiful and delicious luncheon for us. It was all southwest since it is about 115 degrees...no, really, it is....

ooooh....black olives....I LOVE them!

Look at this salad!

Spicey scones!
I didn't get a picture of the fabulous bean dip, cause we had already done damage to it!

Amy has a huge cookie jar collection. I just took a couple of shots for you to get the idea....

Ok, then on Saturday I went over to Liz's home from Rose Vignettes (Marty, don't hate me!!)
Oh my goodness, I was trying to mentally remember every little corner of her fabulously decorated home. Her studio that she just showed for Where Women Create....trust me, it is better in person. I really have no way to tell you what an amazing time we had together. We ate lunch a the Market Bistro, which I have never been to.....then after talking and talking...we went shopping at this AMAZING store that I didn't know existed!

What a name.....it was almost too much for this ole heart....you will see...just a taste....

That is an upstairs full of architectual stuff.....(ok...wait a minute...I need to breathe!)

This is where you check out....note the roof of the counter!!

I wanted everything in this display....old music, old cameras... (breathe)

Oh, mercy me.....

Then we went back to Liz's and rested a bit, looking again at her gorgeous rooms.....
Oh, and let's not forget the ride in her cute Mini Cooper....(overload)

Today after going to church I had my hubs do a little something for me....remember the old sewing machine drawers....???
Well, I hung one up over my Singer machine base table.....it just came to me out of the blue....

Be still my heart! I am in LOVE!

See, I still have those Country decorating vibes in me....

my sweet tiny bottles....do you see the little tag...it is from when we used to get our polio shots..

The little cream color thingy....is a mini sewing kit....and my few little wood spools.
The little book is a Psalms....

It tpok hubby 2 minutes if that to put it up, but he will get kudos for a while from me!!

It is hung over old family photographs....

So, I hope you had a tremendous weekend too! I just love days like these
Life is so Wonderful!

It's Cloche Time in Blogland

It is cloche time in Blogland with the ever famous Marty at A Stroll Thru Life. I just did a change of a cloche in my kitchen area....I just love teacups in cloches. I hung the tea infuser on it and put my precious tea bear by the cloche.

You have seen the following cloche before, but I still love it with the flower packets and little pots.

This is really not a cloche but it is a favorite of mine, which will be great for Favorite Things Saturday at Laurie's. I still remember squealing outloud at Homegoods when I found this.

It will be so much fun to see all the different ways of using our cloches so I can steal, o0ops I mean copy!! your ideas!!
