L and Ceekay watch for bench outside of store to hail Grand Opening of Walgreens

Follow L on his exercise program…..will he climb ladder out of pool or opt for Beach exit?

Should Ceekay grab hand basket for magazine or play it safe with grocery cart – aka walker?

Panic fills the K home when their source of world contact and entertainment, Cox system goes out!!

Ceekay battles with cost of pedicure at salon or whether she can see her toenails to do it herself!

And just in!!! Tension mounts as L can't find pocket comb and makes accusations that Ceekay "PUT IT SOMEPLACE"!

Memorial Day Decorations and Tablescape

Hi everyone...I hope you have all had a wonderful week. I am putting two posts together today...First part is my tablescape for Susan's Tablescape Thursday.... My tablescape is very simple. I have paper napkins, plasticware and melamine dishes....but my grandchildren love the colors!

I have shown this little bear before, but it is a favorite of mine. My grandma used to braid my hair and then make a hat like this for me when I was little...I remember it everytime I look at this bear!

For Show and Tell at Kelli's I thought I would show the rest of my Patriotic decorations. I don't have a lot, but what I have will stay out until after July 4th!

Got this teapot last year at Cracker Barrel for like $4.00. Don't see those deals this year!

This book is so precious and I got it at the Dollar Tree a few years back.

Well, that is my Patriotic items...hope you enjoyed.
I need to also answer a few questions.....the dog we are babysitting for a friend is a German Shepherd mix. She is a sweety and I love having her. I should have her good and spoiled by the time she goes home!
Unfortunately, the little baby left in the tub that I mentioned a couple of weeks ago did pass away.
I bought the bicycle wreath from QVC....I KNOW, I fell in love with it too!
I see my oncologist on June 9th. I am feeling much better finally and thank you for all your concern. I will be starting chemo again, which I dread, but it is necessary. One day at a time.... it is the only way I know how to get through this. And I know that many of you totally understand.
Have a great weekend and don't forget to visit the other blogs posted at Kelli's and Susan's. You will be so glad you did!

Memorial Day 2009

Thank you to all the servicemen, past and present, and their families for the many sacrifices made for the safety and freedom of our country. My husband and I are so thankful to be American. Even with its difficulties, I am proud to call America my home!
I hope you all have a wonderful, safe, peaceful, and enjoyable Memorial Weekend!

I could barely contain myself. I was so thrilled with this gift.

My babies handprints!! I am telling you, no diamonds could top it!
Don't forget to visit Kelli for more Show and Tell's. It is such a fun day!

People, it is 107 Degrees today!

so, we got out of Phoenix.....Perfect day for a Road trip. We went to Jerome, AZ, where it is about 25 degrees cooler, in the mountains....once a booming mining town, known as the Most wicked town in Arizona! When you get in "town" the streets are very narrow!

Here is part of an abandoned mine.

The fire station.

Some antiques you can purchase!!

Charlotte, I thought of you!!!

Old mining equipment on display.

Town's warning bell!

View of some of the old buildings.

Jerome was the red light district in the day! All of Jerome is now an Historic landmark.

Oh my goodness....this Restaurant was absolutely divine! Seriously, I haven't had such good food in a lonnnnng time. Very different and delicious. We HAVE to go back!

Another house built into the side of the mountain. Look at the double round porches!

View from the top of mountain.

More beautiful scenery!

Jerome has its own Grand Hotel! Original boiler and 1926 Otis elevator. I would love to stay here sometime!

See the side of the mountain again! Amazing!

I wanted to bring home something copper....uh, that didn't happen! But these are beautiful!

We just had the best day....so good to get away. Come to AZ sometime and visit Jerome! It is well worth the trip!

A little of this.....

I am feeling like an Odds and Ends day! Just a little of this and a little of that for Show and Tell at Kelli's! Maybe because that is how I have been physically, a little of this and a little of that!!!

This is a small little plaque that survived from my "country" decorating. I have always loved it because the heart on the house is a separate hanging heart. Many a move that heart was taped to the back, so it wouldn't get lost!

When I was a little girl, I wanted a boy doll. I think it was really a desire for a brother, which I did not have. This is my doll. He is wearing an outfit my Aunt Esther made for him. She is quite the seamstress. It is the only outfit I have for him now.

Seriously, I think this is what my brother could have looked like!

Here he is, wearing my husband's baby hat! It is ok to squeal...I do it all the time!

Little Nippon dish purchased at estate sale...$5.00. I don't know if that was good or not, but I thought it was so cute.

Pocket watch holder...I have always wanted one of these. My husband has this watch from the Bicentenial. I bought it for him for our 3rd anniversary! The base of this was oak, but I wanted it black to go better in our home, so out came the faithful black paint!

I have this note card framed and in my Living Room. I have had it for years and I cherish it. I wish I knew where it came from, I would order some more. It has the names of God on it.
