Flowers

This has been one of the most beautiful springs I can remember since I moved to AZ.
The weather has been cool....and we had so much early rain. I just love flowers so I thought today I would show some flowers I see at my home.

The tulips were at my grocery store. I had to have them with this peach and yellow color scheme. They are just beautiful...and what can say spring more than tulips!

Some of the views outside in my yard. I LOVE petunias. And they do so well here in AZ. I really would like to get some more pots this year and plant even more petunias. And of course, the little daisy like flower. Reminds me of my wedding! The trees are all in bloom....it is so pretty. This year my tree isn't as full as we had to trim it, but it will be better next year.
I just had to say that I was so amused by the comments of the dog fan. It is either ooooh how cute, or why would you want that! That is what makes the world go round. Our differences in what we like!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. See you next week!!

I so wanted it....(edited)

but...hubby said he would take a picture of it and then it would never rust, break, or wear out.

It just doesn't feel the same!

Edit: Bloggerettes...it is a fan....a doggie fan. At cracker barrel. I think it is so cute...but it was pricey...ok, so if you don't think the dog is cute...maybe you would prefer a rooster!! they have that too!!

Happy Wednesday

Here we are at Wednesday again! My husband's days off are Monday and Tuesday, so Wednesday is not a favorite day of mine. After almost 37 years of marriage, I still hate when he is away from me, although thankful he has a job!

My dear friend Misty and her grandma and mom have a family treat. They give day gifts for each other. Just a little gift for nothing. Isn't that wonderful? So, I told Misty I was going to let her adopt me and let me in on the fun!
Sunday she met me at church and gave me this precious, and I do mean precious to me...day gift.
She made a collage of our day we spent touring the homes in Windsor Square. She included where we ate lunch, the addresses of the homes, and my tree I fell in love with.

Then to top it off, her mom Debbie (who I made the acrylic book) made me this adorable pillow. You all know my love of pillows.

The fabric is of inspirational phrases..

She crochet the lovely doilie in the center....and

the lace! Isn't that amazing!!

A few weeks ago my friend Melody gave me this pillow in Teal....to take to my chemo. She has one of those amazing embroidery machines and put the words in the shape of a butterfly!

Isn't it so pretty?
So these gifts added to what my husband says are 10,000 personal friends in my home! How about you? any "day" gifts in your life?

Table Top Tuesday #2

Tuesday is the day we get to show our Tabletops. I wrote Marty who hosts this party an email and showed her ahead of time what I was going to post. You see, she knows I have been looking for this item for well over a year....and the other day at Hobby Lobby, I found one! Yep, some dancing going on over there at that minute!!

A chicken wire cloche!! Sometimes I am just amazed at how the Lord blesses me with the little things!!

Here is my tabletop. I plan on painting the cloche a brown tone after I use it this way for a luncheon.

Karen sent me the sweet little bird.

This is my Grandpa's Bible. It is starting to fall apart from all his use so I put the ribbon around to keep it closed. Those are a pair of his old reading glasses.

This was so hard to take a picture, but I have had this notecard framed for years. It has all the names of God on it. It is one of my treasures!!

This is my husband's pocket watch from 1976. It is a Bicentenial commemorative. I KNOW some of you remember men using pocket watches in the 70s!

The tabletop is in my Living room. I usually don't have this much on a table, but I wanted to show you the cloche. I also have some sweet gifts to show later this week.
Hope all of your week is a good one!

Favorite Things Saturday #2

Today is another edition of Favorite Things at Laurie's. This meme could last me a long time because as I said before, if it is in my house, it is a favorite thing!

I love crocks. I have them all over, but there are 2 that are my favorites. When we moved, they get safety belted in the back seat. Just like the new HomeGoods commercial!

My first favorite crock is my butter churn. I saw this about 30 years ago at an auction. I HAD to have it. I dug my feet in the sand and started bidding. My husband is getting nervous....but I won it for $40.00. It is in nearly perfect condition. Next to it is another smaller crock with some of my rolling pins. The little chair is one I used to sit in at church.

The is the emblem on the front of the butter churn.

This huge crock I bought at another auction probably 25 years ago. I just love it. What is inside...well, dishes of course! Any nook and cranny and you will find dishes!!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I am anxious to show you tabletop Tuesday this week. I bought something that I have been looking for a long time!! See you then!

Wednesday Stuff! - Edit with a question

I thought I would add a question. I am getting emails from I believe a phishing account. I moderate my comments and I delete them, but is there a way to stop this? If you have had this problem I would appreciate any assistance. I don't know why all of a sudden I am having this problem. Until I figure out a better way I am going to have to put back the word verification. Maybe that will help. I am sorry to those who hate it...I do to, but I don't know what else to do........Thanks.....and on with my post!

I thought I would answer some questions on my auction purchase. This is a 19th century atomizer. Menthol would be put in the bottom of the crock and hot water poured over to make a mist. The glass inhaler on the top would go in the person's mounth and they would breathe in the vapors. It is from England and on line is selling in mint condition for about 70 dollars US. Mine is not in mint condition.....which I personally can relate to!

There is a "tube" of crockery to the back to let out excess steam.

This is as clear as I could get the writing...but this is what sold me on the piece

My husband bid on some crockery for me. He got the gold rimmed piece along with 2 other plain 2 quart crocks for $10.00. I didn't KNOW I need the gold one, but now that I have it, I don't know what I did without it!

Yesterday I had to go to the doctor, so we stopped at a gourmet grocery store. I picked up some heirloom tomatoes. I see them on Barefoot Contessa and have been wanting to try them. My husband wouldn't even think about trying them.....but they were delicious. Especially the brown one!

I mixed some slices of each with mozzerella pieces in garlic oil. Yum!
There you have it....a big exciting day in the life of Ceekay!!! I am feeling really quite well right now and enjoying every moment!! The windchime in the backyard is chiming and Valerie Parr Hill is talking on QVC....now, can YOU beat that excitement?
Have a good day!

A Fun Day for Us!

I was so happy to be able to go with my husband and friend Candy and her hubby to an auction today.
There is an old Filming set that was auctioning off props....I couldn't go yesterday, and didn't think I would make it, but I felt so good today and my husband said, "Let's go!"

I just enjoy sseeing all the stuff!

One of the buildings there....

I so wanted this coffee grinder....but I just couldn't afford it!

Yes, I know, another one...but same outcome...

This was an interesting display case. I loved it, but no room for it...it was a good size.

Never saw one of these before...very interesting.

Oh Lord, I want one of these soooo bad.

I wanted this too!

Hold me back!

See the cotton display case. That went for a LOT of money!

Here is the auctioneer....he was great, and it was HOT!

I wonder what our HOA would do about this???

I am calling for a loan!

Here is a shot down the street....
So what did I buy??? Not much. I really do not have room for much....but I did get some plain crocks and.....

This darling thing from the 19th century England. $7.50!! Oh Karen, it is going up on that shelf!

What a wonderful day....to feel well and alive and have fun too! As hubby would say, can't beat that with a stick!!!
