A Vintage Luncheon

This Friday I am having my dear friend Misty and her mom Debbie for lunch. Debbie loves vintage items, especially family pieces, so I put this tablesetting together that I think she will enjoy.

This tablecloth belonged to my mother....

These plates belonged to my husband's mother...

Silverware was my mom's....

Napkins are an estate sale find.

The pattern on the plates. I do not have a complete set....but it is perfect for 2 or 3....

The jewelry box was my mothers....I have pictures in the frames of my mom and my hubby's mom....

The box holds old handkerchiefs....and the perfume bottle, my husband bought for me when we were still in college.

These sweet Salt and Pepper my grandma brought back to me on one of her vacations....when I was about 10 or 11.

I put some vintage pieces in the jewelry box.

I have got to share this....the little ballerina dances....although, it hasn't worked for years....I played with it when I was a child....then my daughter did too....today when I took it out...it worked....I was so tickled....

I am looking forward to my lunch with my friends. I hope you enjoyed my vintage table. I am joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for her 100th Tablescape party!!

Absolutely charming and inviting. I love the things you saved from your mother and from your dating days. My mom had a cute little dancing ballerina in a jewelry box, I wonder whatever happened to it. This was such a fun table.

"CeeKay it all looks fabulous! Have you tried Replacements.com for maybe just a few more pieces to the china? I know - they wouldn't be "special", but they would make it so you could use them more often! I wish I could just find the NAME of my grandma's china that we have. I've tried everything I know - I Just love it and would love to use it more often but only have TWO pieces. Hmmmm . . . wonder if any of my cousins are up for a swap of some kind . . .
Well have a fun luncheon. I know how much you love Misty. The "one that got away" - I know the name of that tune. :)
Love, love the vintage pieces and the JEWELRY BOX THAT WORKS! :) YAY!
I can't believe I will see you guys in just 2 weeks! WHOO HOOO!!!!!
Big hugs! Karen"

I was eager to figure out what that was in the little icon picture. I THOUGHT it was a jewelry box dancer, and I was right. This whole table is full of lovely things and sentimentality. As if it were not lovely enough as "art" (it is) the sentiment makes it all the lovlier.

Ceekay, I would never have thought to use a jewelry box in a tablescape! What a wonderful centerpiece to inspire conversation at the table. I love it! I think my Mother's tablecloth looks just like your Mother's. How wonderful that you have all of these treasures that were used by your Mother and your M-I-L. (I guess the little ballerina just needed a good, long rest.) laurie

And to think that your mother's jewelry box is now yours must be so awesome. My mother is holding tight to most of her things.LOL I swear she is healthier than me and will outlive me and she will be wanting my things hehe.
Thank you sweetie for your well wishes.
