Doggie Questions Answered

I just wanted to answer some questions about our new dog Bentley.

Bentley came to us through a friend's daughter co-worker. They originally rescued Bentley when he was dumped from a car and left. ( No, we can't understand that either) The co-worker's husband rescued him from the road and took care of him for a couple of weeks. They have several dogs so they wanted to find a home for Bentley (that is what my hubs and I named him, and he knows his name quite well).
We took him to the vet and he is about 18 months old and a Lhaso Apso Mix. His fur is fabulous! He was scared to death at first. We couldn't get near him. We finally figured out to keep a leash on him and then we could get to him. Once we started loving on him he just calmed down. He is still a little timid with fast moves. He sleeps under our bed. We were a little concerned when our grandchildren came over on Sunday, but Bentley loves kids. No problem there. We have had him a week now and he has found a permanent home and trust me....is already spoiled. And I didn't do it alone. Hubs had his part in it also.
Tomorrow, Bentley is going back to the vet for a bath. They will check his ears, paws, everything and get him cleaned up. They suggested I wait for a bit to have him groomed professionally. He will also be having surgery in 2 weeks. Nope, Bentley will not be your puppie's daddy!! If you are just now reading about our new addition, scroll down to the last post and you will see his picture.
You want to know how life can change with a doggie? Yesterday we had to go look for a new dishwasher. (Can you believe this one from the builder only lasted 3 years...infuriating!) After that I wanted to stop at HomeGoods. But the dishwasher took longer than expected and I said, let's do HomeGoods tomorrow. I want to get home to Bentley. Oh my goodness....this could be serious....I am sure I will recover eventually!

What a beautiful boy! I don't understand how some people can abuse an animal.
Congratulations to you & hubby for bringing Bentley into your lives. He'll repay your kindness for the rest of his life.

Send me an e-mail if you'd like to chat about Farm Town.

Oh what a cute pup! We have two rescued dogs ourselves -- one of ours was also abandoned at a rest stop -- the other was given up by an owner going into a nursing home -- I wouldn't trade them for anything! What a wonderful home he's found and the love he returns will be the best reward ever! Can't wait to read about all Bentley's adventures! Hugs from Mid-Atlantic Martha and her "boys"!

Oh, Ceekay, honey you're hooked on that little Bentley! How precious he is! Poor little thing being so mistreated like that! Those folks should have been hung up by their toenails! Just makes me mad! I'm so glad he is getting all the love from you and your hubby! Isn't it amazing how a little fuzzy doggy can just schooch into our big ole manly husbands hearts! This is sweet. Hope he does well with the grooming!
I've entered your tiny name and I wish you good luck, Ceekayness!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)

Thanks for the info on Bentley. I can't imagine anyone dumping a cute little dog (or any dog!) He was rewarded with getting to come home to you!
