One Happy Grandma

We had a first at our home Monday evening. Our grandson spent the night! He is going to soon be seven. Well, he fell asleep in the car home, so not much happened at night...but this morning was a different story. We had to feed Bentley treats!
We had to take a picture of the boys and Gramma! (Don't laugh, you know taking those self portraits is not easy!)

We had to play Who's going to Market???

We compared hand sizes!

We watched Sponge Bob Square Pants (I just don't get that, but whatever!)
Well, I just have to share a couple of cute stories. Non-grandma's can just roll your eyes here!
I said to my grandson...do you want to take a bath in grandma's big tub? (its a garden tub and I thought it would be a treat). He looks at me seriously, takes two sniffs of his arm and says....no, I don't stink! I just cracked up.
Then we wanted to take him to see the new Ice Age movie. We were all ready and he had some water left in his cup. I said...do you want to have a drink of water before we leave? He again, stops in his tracks, looks at me like I am from another planet and says....Gramma, at the big TV place, you get pop! Well, excuse me. I must have been missing out all these years, cuz many times I didn't get no pop! And we stood our ground firmly....as we walked over to the concession stand and got our grandson....his pop, with popcorn, no less!
Now seriously, this is the face we see when we are eating a snack....no, I will tell you right now, he is NOT spoiled. Not one little bit. You believe me, don't you?

Oh that is so cute. Your grandson looks so happy with Bentley. I don't get Sponge Bob either, never have. You just scratch your head and wonder, what have cartoons come to?! Sure I believe, okay well no, I really don't believe that doggie is not spoiled, who could resist! Ha

Do you need a nap? I know that I do when our 7-year old grandson goes home. But I wouldn't miss having him here for anything! Sally

In answer to your question at the end...No...I don't believe you. Sorry, I see the look in the dog's eyes...it's the same look his distant relative Petey gives me, and I'm not a soft touch with anyone - except - Petey. So if I can't do it, neither can you - cause you've always been softer than me!!

Which is why I also have no problem believing how "strict" you were with your cute little grandson, too....but really now - movies and NO popcorn?? Come on!! You had no choice...it's part of the deal!

Your post is darling, and your grandson is adorable. What fun.. I love that little Bentley to pieces. He could do ANYTHING in my home... he'd be spoiled there, as well. Hugs.

LOL! You have me cracking up here. Love that face on that cutie pie pup!

And your grandson's comments are a riot.

Ceekay, there must be something wrong with me because I have to confess. I do "get" Sponge Bob! LOL! Do you think it's a case of arrested development???

Love to you...

XO,

Sheila :-)
