Metamorphis Monday

It is Metamorphis Monday at Susan's, so I thought I would show what I created over the weekend. I know many of you have seen Cindy's beautiful shell wreaths. I thought I would give it a try. Let me tell you right now, Cindy must be an expert, because these are more time consuming than you think. And watch out fingies....I am still babying a blister!
I found white wreaths at the Dollar Tree. They are about 10 inches. It took, and I am guessing here, about 2 bags of shells. Don't get too many big shells. They don't fit the curve of the wreath correctly. Smaller, about the size of a quarter to half dollar work better, in my opinion.

I started on the inside and worked my way around to the outside, filling in as needed.

I am so pleased with how it turned out. I need to find some ribbon to hang it...but until then I added it to my beachy display on my LR coffee table.

and I know, but seriously, I can't help putting this picture in.
This little guy, well, he has just stolen my heart.

Ceekay, it turned out lovely. I think the glitter star fish is just what it needed. Very cute...

P.S. If you want to meet for lunch I am all for it. Just let me know. I'm so jealous that you and Laura got to meet. :)

Stolen mine too! I love your wreath! I've been wanting to try this, but after Cindy... Well, you know. I rarely have the nerve to try and follow in her footsteps. I'm proud of ya! You did it and it is superb! Get some ribbon and hang that baby!

That starfish is just the perfect finishing touch to your wreath. Acts just like a bow.

Good job, Ceekay! Now go buy a cheap mirror and glue some shells on that..Hang it or use it on your table under a candle.
And no burning your fingers! :)
Prayers for you..

Hi Ceekay! Oh, I love your shell wreath! I've made one, but it's not nearly as pretty as yours! You're good, honey! Now look at that sweet little Bentley! I'm so glad you've got some puppy love going on over at your house!:)

I have been thinking about making one of those seashell wreaths, but it just looks so much better when other people do it. You did a great job!
And Bentley is a cutie-tootie (as my 3 y/o son would say.)

Ceekay, It is beautiful!

Sorry about your fingers. Ouch! I use the hot glue that just melts and doesn't burn because of too many such burns!

Hi Ceekay, I heard all about your wonderful meeting with our dear friend Marty, isn't she the best. She spoke very fondly of you also, so in my book you must be a wonderful lady. The wreath is gorgeous. I just love shells, I add a few in my family room when I change it out for the summer. Thank you so much for your kind words on my guest post at Martys Met monday, it was nice to see your name and to come over here to meet you informally, hugs kathysue

Your wreath looks so pretty - I saw on someone else's here in blogland (and for the life of me I cannot remember who) - she wrapped some burlap loosely around the entire wreath after it was done (shells and all) and left a not-too-long tail hanging. It may sound strange, but the burlap's natural texture and tone just really looked good on there.

And, I love your header pic with the cloche and teacups - I have never seen that done before and it looks simply stunning. I'll have to try that with some of mine, if you don't mind?

Happy Monday -

Girl that turned out fantastic!!!! I don't even do beachy stuff but I love that! Oh your furbaby is just too cute for words...I can't really look at furbabies just yet I still start crying over the loss of our little Maggie...

Girl..about the farm...are you in Farmtown? I don't know all the directions for things on facebook but if you were to invite me as you farm neighbor I could invite you back and then I'd come hire you to harvest for me from time to time...it took me a while to get the hang of it but once you start moving up and planting the high dolar items you can really play then! lol

Ceekay, that wreath is ADORABLE and so is Bentley! Oh, he has the cutest little face and eyes. You just want to hug him to pieces! What a sweetie.

You've inspired me to not only make a cute shell wreath, but to look for a special rescue. I've been looking, but now I have hope that I will find a new little fur friend(s).

Love to you...

XO,

Sheila :-)

The wreath turned out great. I was going to make me one, but I couldn't find any wreaths at my Dollar Tree. I'll have to keep looking. And the pup is just too cute. I want one.
