This week at Quill's Cottage for the Laura Ingall's Blog-a-thon we are to talk about buttons. I don't have a lot to say about buttons...although when you need one, it is nice that they are there! My memory as a child is the same of many, stringing buttons for grandma. She had boxes of them and always wanted to be sure the shirt buttons were separate, I supposed because that is what she always had to replace with a hubby and 5 boys! I did have a jar of buttons, but when we moved that went to Goodwill along with my other Country decor. But I do have one button item to show!!! This is a brooch a lady sent to me one year from Michigan. I was living in Wisconsin and she was looking for a particular item at garage sales. I found it for her and she sent me back this brooch. I don't wear it, because it is rather heavy. It would look good on a winter coat, which of course, we don't have.

Your button heart is very sweet and even more special because someone made it just for you.
Always glad to see AZ plants. Buttons are fascinating. I remember buttons shaped like animals, hearts, etc. I suppose they still have them. I miss Gonzo too.
That is a cute, unique pin. I've never seen you wear it.
Our old buttons are probably very happy whoever got them at Goodwill.
I love your button broach. How thoughtful of her to send it to you! I think your gecko is rather cute too. Thanks for sharing your heart!
That is a great button pin. I sorted my grand mother's buttons, too! thanks for visitng my blog last week!
I love old buttons. I can remember cutting all the buttons off of garments before we threw them away.
I'll bet that it is warm there. The cactus look so pretty in bloom. When we were there in May (for the heat wave that broke records) we saw so many beautiful cactus in bloom. What is that pretty mauve cactus that is sort of a flat paddle looking thing? It was stunning.
I love the geckos. I see this one was sunning him/herself!!
I love your little button heart. It's lovely. I hope those little gecko's are friendly. I loved the picture!
I love the botton pin. It makes a great decorating piece.
We have tiny gecko's on our front porch every evening.
Oh! Oh! Oh! I love that button heart!!! I love buttons and I love hearts and this is a perfect combination. Did the giver make it? I'd love to know what kind of base it is on. It looks almost like the buttons cover something stuffed, like a little pillow.
That's an intriguing way to create from buttons. I like it and can think of a few ways to use it since I still enjoy country decorating. Perhaps as a tie-back or something?? Thanks for sharing this and a bit of Arizona, too.
