Set the Table, Tea is On!

Hello blogland. No, I didn't forget about our tea blog. I just had to wait to have my tea! This week at Gracious Hospitality, we are to share an afternoon tea table. I invited two lovely ladies from my church and we enjoyed a tea luncheon. I had a Chicken Salad, Pita Bread, and Pistachio Nut Salad with Strawberry Shortcake for dessert. We had a lovely time just gabbing! I used the new tea set my husband had given me. After much talking, eating, and looking at blogs, my friends had to go home. It was a wonderful time to treasure.

Next time, you will have to join us! ***Added note...the cookies were sent to me from Kathy at Mimi's Garden. I know they are so cute...I couldn't wait to use them.***
***Another added note: Some of you have asked for the Pistachio Nut Salad Recipe. Here it is:
1 Sm pkg of Pistachio Instant pudding mix
2 c mini marshmellows
1 20 oz can of crushed pinapple with the juice
1/2 c chopped walnuts
1 container Cool Whip
Put all in a bowl and mix well. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.
This salad is an OLD recipe, my kind of cooking, and has several different names. I could make it in my sleep! But everyone enjoys it, especially in the summer.

What a lovely post. Your table is set so beautifully. I love how you added the water glasses. Those little spoons are so pretty. What a cute idea to add those little tea bag holders. I especially love the little teapot cookies. Did you make them? They are absolutely darling and what a topper for that delicious dessert.

What a special tea party! I clicked on the picture to make it larger --- and everything is beautiful! I really love your centerpiece and your beautiful china. I'm wondering --- how do you make Pistachio Nut Salad? And your tea tie entertainment: looking at blogs. How perfect is that? Awesome tea time with friends!!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. The table was so beautiful and the food so yummy.
Thank you for the lovely comment about my mother's vase. I looked on the bottom. It is a Hull vase. I thought it might be Roseville because I had seen some of those pieces that looked a lot like mine. I guess there were several companies making similar things in those days.

Ceekay, Your table setting is beautiful and the food looks divine! I love your candle sticks! We call your pistachio nut salad, "watergate salad," around here. I don't know how it got that name, but it is a wonderful, tasty and refreshing salad! Great post! :) ~Rhonda

Your table is so pretty. Your tea guests must have been delighted. I love the swirly plates. It's Watergate Salad here too and we never have a family dinner or picnic without it.

I do remember now that one of the names was Watergate Salad. I probably have it written down as that! Thanks for reminding me. The recipe is old and I am getting old with it!
