Happy Friday Everyone!!

This Friday is the start of a new meme...Flower Friday at Liz's. I asked her if this means my husband has to bring me flowers every week...I like that idea!

I am a big fan of the flowers from the grocery store. I find them to be so pretty, economical, and easily available.

I treated myself to these beauties Wednesday!

Look what I found at the Target Dollar stop! I had to buy it....my hubby said, I knew that was going home with you!! Does this mean I will be able to find it when I need it???

I thought for Show and Tell at Cindy's I would show my grandparents 50th Wedding Album. My Aunt gave it to me when I was at her home a year ago. This is from 1968.

The article in the Detroit News and the invitation.

This is the apron that every female in the family wore. See it wasn't catered and it was a BIG affaire. So the girls were the cooks, servers, and washers. I was so thrilled to get this apron
from my aunt because it brings back the memory. I believe a couple of my aunts made all of them...and I tell you...that was probably about 30 of them!!

Have a great weekend my friends....

Thanks for your visit. That is so awesome about that apron! I would love to have one like that. Also, my daughter has a dog named Bently, he's a pup right now but he is going to be BIG, he's half great dane and half mastiff! :D

I think it's great that you have so many vintage treasures that have been passed down in your family to you! It makes them all the more special.

Your flowers are so pretty. I love the convenience of the ones from the grocery store, too. The carnations seem to last forever!

Happy Friday to you, Ceekay!

Ck, love your flowers and I think you should have some every week. The pink hammer is just tooooooooo cute. What a thrill the have your parents album and the apron. Great treasures. Hugs, Marty

I've had my own hammer for years. In the beginning, it was one my sister gave me, but I got one of Daddy's that he had in the house when we sorted their things after his death.
I also have some screwdrivers that were his...I keep these and a few other tools in a cabinet in the laundry room....Honey Bear is always borrowing them...Saturday, I was busy quilting at the machine and he came to ask where my super glue was.
I wouldn't mind having flowers every week...I often buy mine own as you did.

What a cute apron! Someone really went to a lot of work to make those! That's good that you have one.

Ceekay, what a lovely couple your grandparents were.. That apron is adorable. I have the apron my great grandmother wore and your post reminded me I need to get it out of his storage bag, freshen it up and hang it in my kitchen,, Maybe some of her great cooking skills will magically flow to me if I walk by and rub the pocket once in awhile..

hugs and Happy Labor Day

Oh! Thank you for joining in on my little party!!! :) I love your flowers and I am a huge fan of grocery store bargain flowers!! I have to walk through that section every time I shop. :)

I think that little apron is precious! My parents just passed the 50 year mark! Hubs and I would each be 92 if we make to 50 years! LOL!

Thank you so much for joining in Fresh-Cut Friday!

It is so sweet that you have these momentos from your family's history to treasure. As for the flowers, I have great luck buying mine at Kroger. They last longer than some I've gotten from an expensive florist shop. Having some color in the house always makes a room look more special. Plus, I don't kill them, like I do a potted plant. LOL

What special treasures from your grandparent's 50th!! Back then parties were a big deal, and I remember doing all the work ourselves. I miss those days because everything was so personal. Hope you are feeling well; enjoy the weekend. Sally

I guess you inspired me because when I went to the store today, I bought myself flowers.

Hi Ceekay,

I enjoyed seeing everything you shared today, but the album and apron from your grandparent's 50th celebration were my favorites. I agree that it's great to be able to pick up flowers from the supermarket (especially when everything in the garden's looking less than spectacular this time of year!).

Have a great weekend!
