Just Keepin' It Real!

Let's all say "UGH" together now.......

So Marty does the top of a packing box with the decorative items inside technically count as a tabletop?  Oh, I know, Tabletop DEconstructed!  I hear it is all the rage!
I had to show my birthday present from Marty....Isn't he adorable.  Ok, here comes a hint...he will go perfect with the color of my new/old kitchen!!

Thank you all for your words of encouragement.  I am doing ok....and I know Home is where your heart is....I just have to remember to pack it, in one of these dozens of boxes!!

Shameslessly again joining Marty for Tabletop Tuesday - Deconstructed and House in the Roses....for Show off Your Cottage - Deconstructed at Cielo's.

Packing isn't fun, by any means - but you do get to see, feel and touch each of your precious items as you do it. :)

In 23 years, I had moved 47 times - twice to AZ and then twice in TN - then to MI to marry hubby - all the rest were all over WI. Then after my "LAST" to MI, hubby decided that we should sell his house and get OUR house. So, I not only had to pack the items I brought from WI (not many), but all the things in his house. Good thing we had some lead time - cuz we sorted and sold sooooo much, all we moved to the new house was bags of new things!!!

We ordered all new furniture (and it was almost all paid for by the $$$ from our moving sale)!! And Tom just wanted to pitch everything he had!! Go figure!!

It's true - Home IS Where Your ♥ Is!!

Hopefully, when you are settled in your new home, you'll think back at what a great and fun decision it was to move. Take care of yourself and don't work TOO hard. Sally

I know this is so difficult.. Last time I moved I went from 3900 sq ft to 2100 sq ft and it had to be done in 8 days..
You are doing so well and that adorable chef is gonna be cute in your new kitchen..

Ceekay, I know what its like to all that packing. We just moved last year into our new house! Unlike you I was glad to move because it meant me getting my dream home.
I don't pretend to know what its like to give up your dream home. You will get through this my friend. I sure you have some help packing all those boxes.

Moving is such a big job! We've moved several times and I always had a box that was the last one to pack. I marked it 'last box' and it rode in the car with me. It had the phone book, the odds and ends that were needed until the last moment and a few things that I would need right away at the new house. It was always the first box to be opened at the new home and I always made sure it had whatever I might need.

Oh CeeKay Sweetie...
I love your little Chef from Marty. He is simply adorable and I can't wait to see him in your new kitchen.

You are in my prayers dear friend. I know this is hard for you. God always opens a window when a door is closed. Your window will be blowing with a beautiful breeze.

Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Hi Ceekay! Oh, I know how hard moving is but looks like you're going to town with it. Take care of yourself and I'm sure you'll love your new home and we'll be right there knowing on our puter screens saying, "Let us in!"
Be a sweetie,

Oh gee, I am just seeing this! I am praying that in a few months you will think it was for the best, and that God's plan is the best one. That being said, i know it must be very hard to part with things. I am praying for you. Moving is stressful, please pace yourself.
And it doesn't matter where you move, we are following you!

Oh Honey...my ♥ goes out to you! Moving is SO stressful, whether you want to go or not. It is one of the 10 biggest life stressors, right up there with the death of a loved one, so take it easy & be gentle on yourself.

We moved from a huge, 2 story, 4 bedroom colonial on 2 acres, with a basement & attic to a single level, 2 bedroom home in FL without a basement. That was really HARD, so I know just how you feel!!!

You'll just have to get more creative in your storage & display methods with a smaller home. Did you see my post on where I hide things?? Under the beds, under the sofa, extra shelves installed in closets, tucked in dresser drawers...you name it, I use every inch.

I hope you will find Peace with your decision. If I lived closer, I'd come help you pack!
Hugs,
Rett

I hate packing to move, but you must keep in mind the reason for doing it so it will keep your spirits high. I think (in your condition) that keeping your stress low is imperative! It's all in how you react to things that will keep that in check. Moving is stressful on everyone though. Looking forward to seeing your new home.

Moving scares me...i can imagine what your feeling. Perhaps your already past that part of it. I think it will be good to be closer to the doctors and your hubbys work though..relieveing stress can help us with our fight of our disease. Personally I look forward to seeing your new home! the fun part is the new decorating, the new rooms...new viws etc. Hopefully you have alot of help!

If you have black & white checkerboard tile in your new kitchen I.will.die!
Are you going to have an online garage sale for pretties you won't be moving?

First of all, great birthday present! He's very cute. Sorry to hear about your unexpected move, but you gotta do what you gotta do. It sounds like you are being realistic about it. I can't wait to see your new home.

We have moved many times so I have never gotten extremely attached to one locale, but I know it must be hard for those who have lived in a happy home for long. I always detest packing but love unpacking--it is so positive and you will have a chance to be creative placing your "friends" in your new home! I will keep you in my prayers! Your box picture really made me laugh--I know the feeling so well. Linda

We've been out-of-town, just got home today. Can't wait to see why you are packing? Are you moving? I'll read your other posts soon. I also shamelessly did "encores" for Marty's party! She's so sweet "her don't care!!" (Smile)

Oh CeeKay Sweetie...
Email me your new address or an address where I can send you one. I have bought several that I keep for just such an occasion. I would love to gift you with one for a house warming. You will love it.

Jane's shop is a little low right now, but I do have some pretty ones, and I will add a few little touches of my own just for you.

Have a beautiful evening. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Hello! I totally feel you on this as I also am moving and packing sooo many things and parting with a lot of them. There simply is no room for all of it. It sounds like you have a great sense of humor about it! I like the waiter - cute! God bless

OMGosh... I really need to check my reader a bit more frequently!!! OH, JOY!!! A new adventure! That's the way I always think of a move. Packing isn't fun, though.

I am sure your new place will be lovely... 'cause you'll be there and will put just the right touches here and there, especially your new bread guy for the kitchen!

Take care... and you MUST continue blogging.
