My Mobile Home Miracle?

We are a month away from our move.  I am ready.  I am sick of boxes...tired of painting....and just want to be settled again.

When my hubby told me that he was seriously thinking of purchasing a mobile home I thought either he was nuts or I was for marrying him almost 40 years ago!  He never ever mentioned doing this.

But then again, we never ever thought I would get cancer, lose my job, never work again, and the economy tank.

So we started looking...well, really he looked.  I cried.  I begged God to please don't let this happen.

My husband wanted to spend very little on a fixer-upper.  What he wanted to spend...some people buy very old used cars...and I am NOT kidding.

So, I told one of the sales ladies, I NEED a MIRACLE!!

I guess I got it.  Oh, I KNOW I got it...it is just that the Lord knows, I am still not jumping happy hoops right now.  I am adjusting.  That's all I got right now.

So I will share this....we made an offer....thousands of dollars less than they were asking...sales lady said, they won't take it....They did.

The work (on it and me) began.

This is the flyer they gave us.  It was full of furniture...it took us a week just to clean it out to start taking everything apart.

This is going to be interesting!!

You did receive a miracle and found a pretty mobile home at the right price. I like the built in? hutch cabinet. Don't work too hard in the move, friend!

Hi Ceekay, We downsized drastically one year ago due to my husband's disability. I pray that you two will be as happy as we have been. God blessed us with a "step-less" home and Christian neighbors. We only kept what we truly needed and life is so much easier. Your new home looks very nice and I can't wait to see your touches on it. Have a nice weekend.

Yay!! You will fix that little home the way you want it and you'll never think of it as a mobile home. My aunt and uncle have one and it has a beautiful yard, deck, gardens...all of it. We never think of it as a mobile home. Oh, they have great neighbors too!!

Isn't it amazing what life does to us sometimes? I'd say God is looking out for you and that you are in His good graces! It is never easy to make a move to something that we never thought would happen to us..and it does change us on some level.

We are looking at downsizing a great deal not too far in the future and it is an odd/weird/scary feeling, isn't it? I guess we just cross the bridges when we get to the deep water.

You can do this, CeeKay-I have faith in you...that you will do it with grace and serenity...and that is what I am praying that happens for you! xo Diana

Once you've got your hands on that place, it'll never be the same. Home is exactly what you create. It looks as if it is in a great location and has possibility written all over it.

that place will be adorable once you make it Yours. I downsized 14 years ago from 4200 sq st to 2400 sq ft and it wouldnt bother me to have half that amount. Lots less to mess with and clean up.

dont overdue yourself. it'll all come together.. congrats on your miracle.

I have complete faith that you will take this place under your wing and make it into a beautiful, safe home for you and your husband. When God closes a door, somewhere he opens a window. I think this just might be your window. Hang in there girl...Ann

There were so many of these little communities of double-wide mobiles in Yuma, & some of them were fixed up so nice. I have no doubt you & your hubby will have yours looking like a real gem. Have you already sold your existing house? I do know that houses are starting to sell around here, & new builds are booming. I wish you all the best in all that is going on in your life.

Oh, my dear little Ceekay...this is going to be fantastic. My son and his wife have raised 5 kids in their double wide. They just redid the kitchen and it is sooo nice.
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS....you, of all people, know this.
The brick, mortar, wood, glass....none of it amounts to a hill of beans. You are going to love your mobile home. I am trying with all my might to do the same thing. We could sell this big house...rooms that we don't need, buy a pretty, small mobile home and do sooo much better.
I know you will have it looking awesome soon.

I sure can understand being tired of boxes and just wanting to be settled. Hang in there, your new house will be "home" soon- and I agree with what so many people have said- smaller is so much easier.

Hello
Isn't God good, He always finds a way to change us into the beautiful image of His Son. And usually the very thing we think will be devastating turns out to be the biggest blessing in our lives.
You know Theresa or TOT from Time Worn Interiors, I did a post on her shop and home earlier in the year. Her home is a double wide, she has been featured in Country Living magazine and also their books. I know you will turn your space into something happy.
Blessings

Oh, Ceekay! God bless you so much. I know this has been so hard for you but what a blessing for y'all and a bargain. That's a pretty mobile home and looks like you've got lots of space and those builtins are wonderful. You will work your Ceekay magic on this place and it'll look wonderful! Come by a little later on as I have a surprise for you, very late surprise I might say! :)
Be a sweetie,

Cee Kay,
I am a strong believer in " What is meant to be, will be". You were meant to own this home.
I love the built in and I could picture it a thousand differetn ways. You are lucky that your hubby is handy. Mine is not.
I think I have mentioned this before but our next move will be into an apartment. I am tired of maintenance and the thought of picking up the phone or emailing someone to fix something and it is done in 24 hours really appeals to me!! And not having to pay for any repairs or taxes, sounds good to me. But I will be the one who has to convince my hubby!!
I can't wait to see what the place looks like when you are finished. I bet you can't wither! LOL!
Hugs,
Deb
