Changes for Ceekay!

I know I have hinted that we had some things that needed much thought and prayer, and they were not about my health.  I have questioned whether I should blog about it, or even if I should continue to blog.  But after speaking with some of my closest blog friends, they encouraged me to continue blogging.  So I will share what has been going on.

In a sentence, my husband and I are moving.  As I tell you this, there is a big hole in my heart because I love our home and thought it was my last home.  But after months of consideration and weighing the pros and cons, we have decided to move closer to my doctors, my husband's work, and to go into a gated 55plus community.  And downsizing.  Now, my current home isn't all that big...my new one, much smaller.  I won't even go into the crying and begging God to give me a joyful spirit.

No, I am not thrilled about it.  I could lie...but I think that things being what there are for so many of us, that would not be a help to anyone.  The reality is...things being what they are, me no longer being able to work, and my husband drawing closer to retirement....we believe it is the right choice, and the choice that the Lord seems to be drawing us to.

As you know, I am quite the sentimental person.  My husband has always said I have 10,000 personal friends...my stuff!  Well, you can't put 10 pounds of flour in a 2 pound  bag...if you get my drift...so some things have got to go.  This is why I have been cleaning and reorganizing, and now packing.

I am hoping that you will still want to follow my blog.  My blog is mostly about my home...and that is not going to change.  It may not be grand, but it will still be my home, my joys, my frustrations, be it different.  I hope you will continue to follow along.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.  Moving while being on chemo was not on my list for 2012.....but it must have been on God's!  We have been amazed at how He has answered some specific prayers regarding our new place.  I will share those with you as this journey continues....

Well, going to go for now...no pictures, just boxes, and boxes, and, well...you get the idea!

We will be doing the actual move the middle of April.

Ceekay, I love your spirit and always like to visit with you via your blog, so I am happy you are continuing to blog. It sounds like this move is painful for you and yet I think it will turn out to be a wonderful change. God's plans are for good for you, as the Good Book says.

Oh, Ceekay, I feel your heart! And I'm sorry for the anguish you feel. But I know you love the Lord and as His child, you trust Him. It has to be hard to downsize and get ready for the move but I know the Lord will give you joy and I pray soon! I remember that old Gaither song - hold on my child, joy comes in the morning. Weeping only last for awhile! I'll always follow your blog and I'll be praying for you and your hubby.
Love you,
Shelia ;)

Hi Ceekay, I can tell how very difficult this transition is for you but I believe the Lord is just going to bless you socks off. You are such an incredible friendly, giving gal that I know you'll have oodles of friends in your new community within a month. Thank you that you are quitting blogging-we really need your inspiration. I bet you'll even have some wonderful new things in your house that you'll just love.
Wish I could help you pack.
Hugs, Noreen

Ceekay,
Of course we'll follow your blog because of you, not your home. Your home is what you make of it...with your spirit, not your things. Please take care of yourself during the move. Wishing you the best.

Ceekay..the one thing that I have learned about God is, he knows best and he is NEVER wrong. Going to him and praying for guidance is a must. You will make your new place "home" just like you have the one you are in now. Those 55+ communites have lots of exciting things going on in them I am told. Your in my prayers sweetie.

Change and moving is so hard and you not feeling well right now makes it tougher..
I know you'll get through this and friends and family will still be close by. God knows the miracles he has planned for you and maybe it takes this change for that to happen.

I visit your blog for YOU , so I am happy you'll keep blogging.

Many blessings in your move. I think this is a decision that most of us are going to have to face at one time or another. One thing is sure, you could create "home" under a bridge so I am looking forward to all that you will do in your new home. It will be beautiful because you live there!

Dear, dear Ceekay,

Sing with me. "I will follow youuuuu,
I will follow you, wherever you may goooo,
There isn't a desert of sand,
That will keep me from holding your hand......You are my bloggy friend."

Two half hearted voiced can make one great song. So let's sing together.

Ceekay, I will be praying for you. We are about to do the same thing soon and I, too, am dreading it. I sincerely thought this would be our last home..and now we are going to downsize and move. I so understand the heart-wrenching moments this is going to give you...but...if you feel this is God's plan for you then you know it will turn out all right.

I know that no matter what the house is like you will make it into a wonderful warm home....and I can't wait to see what you do- xo Diana

See friend didn't we tell you that people follow your blog for you and just look at all the confirmation you are getting!!!

I am excited to see how God is going to work all the details out for this move. Did I share with you the verse He gave me for 2012. "You will establish peace for me, since you have also performed for me all my works" Isaiah 26:12- personalized- Rest in Him friend!! And when I get done with my little creative space you can come and take a rest up here and we'll do some fun stuff!

CeeKay,
Of course we are all going to still follow you, we would follow you anywhere.
I can understand where you are coming from as I know my days are numbered in my home. There are 13 steps to go up to the front door. With my arthritis, I know that in about 10-15 years, those steps are going to be a major problem. I never thought of it when I was 20 y/o and we bought the home. We will move to a 2 bedroom apartment that will be handicapped accessible then . I know this will be my reality and I am starting to prepare for it now....
Think of it as an adventure and a new start...

Hugs,
Deb

Oh girl...I must tell you I hear your heart. Moving can be so tough. I moved 14 times the first two yeas my honey and I were married and we didn't buy our first home (the one I live in today) until we'd been married 14 years. That was 20 years ago now.

That said...

The home is where YOU ARE. Where your heart is indeed. We follow YOU! Not your house. It is YOU we love...

Your new home will become the total of who you are and it will no doubt be lovely~

Blessings as you face this change. Prayers go up daily for you and your physical health.

Bless your heart, sweet lady. With moving so fresh on my mind, I can only imagine how I would feel if we had to move again. I like to believe my faith is strong, but I think I might just be going "postal" about now! I sure hope your hubby doesn't work for the P.O.....lol! I was just reading your most recent post about visiting the ladies' group in your new community. It sounds very much like The Newcomers' Club that I was involved with in Yuma. They did that exact same thing every Spring, & I always managed to be "too busy" - shame on me! I wish you the best of luck in your move, & please never doubt that I will most certainly continue to follow.

Thanks so much for your sweet comment on my wreath. You will just have to make something wonderful for your new home!
Bear hugs,
CAS

Change is not always easy Ceekay! It's so hard to leave a home you have lived in for so long! We bought a home on Cape Cod a year ago and have totally gutted it and have been remodeling it all this time. We still own the home we built 21 years ago. It is closer to hubby's job....and he is not ready to retire for for a few more years. But I have been spending lots of time at the new house with the remodel and running back and forth between the 2 houses.......1 hour 15 minute commute one way...I too need to figure out how to "downsize". Not easy with a 5 bedroom colonial!!!!! But I am not bringing anything to the Cape unless I know exactly where I will put it! I wish you much happiness in your new home. I'm sure you will have it looking like home in no time!
Hugs,
Lynn

You know, hon, your blog is about your home, but it is really about YOU and that's why we follow and read.

And it's the same YOU, whether in your old or your new home. Besides, your adventure in downsizing is something many of us will be doing one of these days.

Good luck in the move -- it is so stressful and such hard work! -- and I'm looking forward to following your new tales of home.

Please keep blogging, when you can.
