I love the old pictures and ribbons on the cards.
This was probably considered expensive then!!! Add a 0 and now you can get a "decent" card.
I loved some of the wording inside....pretty doggone nice....simply mad about him....don't hear that terminology much in a card anymore.
Well then I was in for a shock. I was looking at my baby book to see if I could find out who made the baby blanket I showed a few posts back. There were several old cards in there of mine...early birthdays... As I was looking this little card was there and I had seen it many times. To my surprise something fell out of the bottom of it. Now ladies....I have moved several times...looked at things in this book before, shoved it back in the closet, and NEVER did I see this....but there it was.....My baby ring. I was on the phone with my cousin and I started crying. I could not believe it. I knew there had been a ring...but my mom thought she lost it. It must have been stuck inside the card all those years. As you can see the old tape has damaged the card...but look....there is my ring.
I will be framing that also.
I will be framing that also.
Please stop by Kelli's to see what other lovelys are being shown today!!

Love your post, C. The cards are so sweet - love your moms words at the bottom. "Darling" - never used anymore but so sweet. Love it! The ring, of course, is precious! I can't wait to see it framed.
XOXO...Kathy
This is a fabulous post. A show & tell worth showing.

Oh Ceekay, how very sweet and what a special surprise!! Your story just warmed me from the inside out!! The cards are a real treasure, too! I love reading the cards my Mom gave me through the years. I miss her so much!
Thanks for sharing!!
Sunshine and joy be yours!

I love those cards, and finding your ring almost brought tears to my eyes. I definitely think they should all be framed. laurie
Hi Ceekay! I love these old cards and how special that you have them. Oh, I saw the little Brain Gender quiz and had to take it! I'm mostly female. I'm glad to know that! lol
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
How wonderful that you found your ring!! You never know what surprises will appear and that makes life so exciting. Enjoy your find and thanks for sharing it with us. Sally
Thanks for your visit to my blog and your nice comments! I really appreciate them. Your old cards are really neat. What a treasure! I looked at your snowflake tablescape.... it's really pretty! Great blog!! Kristen
Those are really lovely. It's very special to have samples of special people's handwriting. I have several poems written by my mother in her own handwriting and I really treasure them.
I love the old Valentine's cards. I keep all the cards I get, I have quite a collection.
What a treasure to have the cards of your folks, but to find your baby ring is priceless. I can't wait to see how you frame them. Better to have them out and enjoy them than save them for an occasional peak.. hugs ~lynne~
a great show and tell...thanks for sharing. I have many old cards from my mother and father...before they were married my father always signed the cards with his last name and the year...I laugh everytime I see them because they are so impersonal...he would sign them..... Lackie 38'.........typical man!!
Isn't it nice to see how much your parents cared for each other, especially through Valentine's Day cards? My mom found cards from her parents and I felt all warm and fuzzy.
Love that you found your baby ring.
you know, I saved birthday cards my Mother used to send me. After she died I missed getting cards from her, so I pull out the cards I saved and sit them around the house to remind me of her.
I just love old cards like this!
Oh, I really enjoyed this post. The Valentine's are wonderful and you finding the baby ring is just priceless. I'm so happy for you!
Ceekay..
How Precious! What a Great story.
Blessed Hugs...

You have some wonderful keepsakes there and I know it must have been a thrill to find your baby ring.Wonderful post.
What a faboulous post! Such beautiful memories!
No kidding when you mentioned adding a zero to the quarter price stamp.
Lovely pieces you have too. And framing them is such a super idea.
My Show n Tell...I felt kind of BLUE today. Come by if you can, I'd love to have your company.
Oh Ceekay, What a treasure you stumbled on. I'm so glad you found it.
The cards are simply too sweet for words.
I have all but stopped buying cards. I now factor in the cost of the card in to the gift and buy a more expensive gift. My mother on the other hand is a card buyer extraordinaire. I always read the wording in her cards...as it is always relevant to me. My kids love getting mail from Grandma, too!
Your psot highlight s bygone age where the written word was of great value. Penmanship was a highly prized skill. I grew up in England where I wrote with a fountain pen (ink)...not that my writing ws neat, but an ink pen is a wonderful, if not messy writing instrument!
I would love to see your cards, maybe in a frame all together, celebrating your parents love. Oh, what a wonderful surprise found, your baby ring! What a wonderful gift for you to have found it! Tear, Tear..
Oh, what treasures! I can only imagine the tears of joy over finding the lost baby ring. I'm so glad you shared all of this.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!
I would love to see the cards in person. The charm of old cards is wonderful. The story behind yours is so romantic.
I am glad that you found your ring. I hope that you will share the framed pieces with us.

Okay, that was sooooo sweet! Thanks for sharing the memories!! Hope your weekend is great!
Oh my goodness...you found your long lost ring...isn't that just incredible?! Wow! I'm so thrilled for you. :-) And the cards...well, they are perfect...I just LOVE vintage cards in general, and the Valentine's ones are particularly charming.
What a sweet post! I also have cards my parents exchanged and they are so sweet. I love the old vintage designs and innocence of those times. What a discovery of the ring!
Don't you love the flameless candles?
I love vintage things! The cards are just beautiful and you're right, cards back then were works of art. I posted today about
some things that my mom recently found. In the box were some of my baby toys, my baby quilt and some of my baby clothes. To me they're
priceless!
This was such a moving post. I am so glad you have your baby ring and the cards are so special. I think its a good Idea to frame them!
Valerie

I collect old cards too. I don't know what to do with them, but I love the graphics and art work and when I find one, I keep it. I love old familiar handwriting too. This was so romantic. Thanks for sharing a piece of your loving history with us.
Wow I'm so happy for you. I was enjoying the Valentines and thought they were great and then when I got to the ring all I could think was WOW! That's amazing. Thanks for sharing this.

Hi Ceekay, Just love your cards. What treasures to have in your collection. I wish cards today were as detailed and worded like these. Like everything else in the stores, we get less for more. LOL!!
Love your tablescape too. WOW!! I too, have a few of those dollar tree goodies. Great finds in that store. We have a fairly new one by our home and love to go and look around.
Thank you for stopping by. So nice to see you. I am about ready to show what I have been up too and why I have been MIA. Redesigning two rooms and a bathroom. So much fun, but now I am ready to take some pics. See you again soon.
Have a great weekend.
Hugs, Celestina Marie
I love all of these cards. They sure don't make them like that any more, do they? How special to have your Mom's writing in them too. But, the story about the baby ring is really touching.
Regarding your comment on my hot chocolate. If you look on my Jan. 15th post in the 1st paragraph there is a sentence about it being a good day to try some of this. If you click on "this" it is a link that takes you to the hot chocolate. I'm not sure why it doesn't appear to be a link unless you position the cursor right on the word??
Have a nice weekend,
Kim
Vintage cards are the best! I save most of mine. Especially the hand made one's.
The cards are beautiful and what an heirloom keepsake.....
Thank you for visiting with me...please come again...Betty
Hi Ceekay!
Your Valentine cards are so sweet! I enjoyed my visit to your blog.
Finding your baby ring after thinking it was long gone was a wonderful surprise! How precious.
Kindly, ldh
Yes..the days of the 25 cent card are gone....very pretty Ceekay!
Hi Ceekay,
I just tagged you if you care to play. No pressure.
Have a happy weekend.
I love the idea of framing the cards. It would be neat to do a shadow box with the ring and some other momentos. I love that you have your mother's handwriting sample.
Just for the record: I use the word "Darling" all the time to Honey Bear as in "Good morning, Darling". maybe its a southern thing.
Mama Bear
What a wonderful find! And it is gorgeous to have things that are part of your family history. I love the idea of having them framed - such a creative way of making sure they are not forgotten.
FeeBeeKay
Oh how sweet is that!! A lost treasure is no found! My mom has cards that look like those as well. What sweet sayings inside.
Great minds think alike - but everyone I feel comfortable asking doesn't have a scanner! I haven't given up yet though!
Have a great evening! hugs, Linda
OHHH I just love those...I have several that had been my grandparents...I pick them up too when I find them. The graphics just can not be beat. I LOVE that you found your ring...sooo sweet. Please share when you frame it. cherry
What wonderful family items to discover after so many years. It will be wonderful to have them displayed in nice frames.
Your mother's handwriting is beautiful. So glad you found your ring. What a nice story.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
