Baby Blanket Show and Tell!

During Christmas, going through some containers, I found my baby blanket. This little blanket is getting old, just like its owner! But I always thought it was so sweet. I remember as a young girl wrapping up my baby dolls in this blanket. It was homemade, appliqued and embroidered. The arms of the little bears move because of the buttons that hold them.
Buttons that allow legs and arms to move.

Sweet flowers and faces embroidered.

Hand stitching to sew on silk binding. This blanket has worn spots on the bears and is becoming very delicate. I am afraid it will soon fall apart. Laughing now...sounds like its owner again!!!
Don't forget to visit Kelli for more wonderful Show and Tell's. Happy Friday!
***Just a reminder that today is the last day to sign up for my 200th post giveaway. I will be drawing Saturday morning. See my previous post!!

My mom gave me our baby quilts. I'll have to post pics of them.

What a wonderful treasure. Look at the stitching. They did a really nice job with it. My grandmother made me a quilt that I can remember wrapping up with but am not sure where it is now. I am happy to have those memories.

Such a wonderful treasure to have. I have a few nice blankets given as gifts when Baby Kay was born, but nothing as sweet as this. A really precious thing to still have - especially when it has been so much loved and worn!

That is a beautiful baby blanket. I've never seen one like it. I don't have anything from when I was a baby, but I do still have all the quilts from when my boys were babies.

What a pretty blanket! My baby blanket doesn't have the silk border because I rubbed it off because it was so soft.

Why does that look so familiar? Did you have it out and around when we were growing up? I seem to remember a light green one that was similar...who knows?

I didn't get to keep any of that - I went off to college and everything was gone when I got back. Well, at least that's the way it seems.

Cute.

That is really neat that you still have that. Even from your pictures it still looks like it is in good shape. You're lucky to have it. I held on to my first baby doll and when we moved when I was 16 I never could find it again. I have no idea what happened to it btwn. there and here.
