She had a manicure for the special day...yep, she came that way. See the little buttons on her sleeve?

Here Comes the Bride - Show and Tell
February is just around the corner and LOVE is in the air! I thought for Show and Tell at Kelli's I would show my bride doll from when I was a little girl. The dress is not original. For my 30th birthday, my husband found a lady that made doll clothes and I had this dress designed and made for her. That was almost 25 years ago now, and I probably should do it again...but I won't. She is a precious memory just the way she is.

Oh! She is so sweet! I just love your husband had the dress made for her. Those painted nails! I think you need to keep this dress on her. What a wonderful treasure.
What a beautiful Bride doll. Whoever did the dress did a great job. I would leave her just the way she is, beautiful.
What a sweet bride! Why haven't I seen her before?
xo...Kathy
What a treasure to have from your childhood and made even more special because of your husband's birthday gift of a new dress. I love the little shoes and painted nails. Thanks for sharing your bride doll.
Blessings,
Elizabeth
Just plain........"Oh WoW!!!!"
I love weddings...and I LOVE Bride Dolls!!!!! Psssst, I won't tell anyone that you lifted up her gown for us. [kidding!]
Excellent show n tell. Mine's posted, I do hope you can stop by and visit with me sometime today. Happy Friday.
Your doll is very sweet! When I was little I use to wear my mother's dress all the time and pretend like you did. Only when I did become a bride we took the dress out of the garbage bag that she stored it in and had it restored back to its beauty and I walked down the aisle in it. I'm happy to say it's in a proper box now all preserved like it should be! What lovely memories...thanks for sharing!
How beautiful she is! Where do you hide her? I haven't seen her out, have I? Wonderful keepsake and sweet story.
Your bride doll is so special. What a treasure!!
What a gorgeous dress. That was so sweet of your husband to have it made.
What a sweet treasure to have.
My post today has a bride too - only it's me!
Is she a Madame Alexander doll? Her face has the sweet look of those dolls. I have an Amy (Little Women) MA doll I would love to have restored.
I can't believe you have the shoes! Those are usually the first thing to be lost.
I had a doll very much like her. I think it was a sort of fad at the time. You don't see any Bride dolls these days. I wanted one so badly and she was my gift that year from Santa. Unfortunately, I don't still have her.
I love the outfit that was made for yours. She is a real treasure.

What a beautiful doll! It looks like they spared no detail.
Ceekay, I wish I had my first bride doll...this was so cute! Thanks for sharing, the dress is gorgeouson her! What a diva, even as a bride! ;) ~CC
Oh Ceekay.. she is beautiful.. What a thoughtful hubby you have. She is a treasure for sure.. thanks for swinging by for the virtual shopping trip..hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed having you.. hugs ~lynne~
I LOVE your bride doll!!! I have one also from when I was a kid and she still has her original dress - which is a mess! I bought a collector's bride doll many years ago and have them both tucked away. I am now going to take them out and enjoy them. I loved seeing the many beautiful pictures you shared of your beautiful doll!
What a beautiful doll! Your husband is a sweetie, having her dress made was a wonderful gift of love...hugs, Linda
I just love your stories that go along with your things! I love your bride doll!
Valerie
She is so beautiful! Love that dress, and your husband sure knows how to select great gifts!
I always wanted a bride doll as a child, but never had one, although I did get a beautiful doll each year for Christmas. Several years ago I found a pretty bride doll at Ross (or somewhere like that) for $15 and I bought her! She's in my doll curio now.
I sure enjoyed seeing yours, what is her name?
Katherine
I could be wrong, but I think I have this same bride doll. Mine has a tiny 'diamond' ring. Did yours come with one of those? The bouquet is the same, as are the earrings. I'll have to dig her out and compare her to your post. Whoa! Mine is about 45 (or so) years old.
You are always welcome in The Shadow of the Cross. Feel free to stop in anytime.
What a wonderful doll - the detail is just incredible. She seems to have a little personality all of her own. And your husband sounds like a perfect sweetie! Lucky you!!
Have a wonderful weekend!

She is precious. Thanks for sharing. Happy Show and Tell Day!
Oh! That is just beautiful and so special.
Oh, what fun! I love the photo of her checking herself out in the mirror, and I love her red nails! She is definitely a diva bride. :-)
Oh what fun to still have your beautiful bride doll! She's lovely!
What a beautiful bride doll! She has such a pretty face. Her dress is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing a wonderful childhood keepsake.
Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a sweet comment. Have a wonderful weekend!
She is beautiful! I just love her and think she's perfect. I had a bride doll as a little girl as well. It was given to me when I was five and a flower girl in a wedding. She was so precious to me, but my mother kept her in a 'safe place' and I didn't get to play with her, as I recall. When I was about seven, my mother convinced me that I needed to give her away to a 'poor little girl' (unknown --- to a general agency or some place) and I felt like I should at my mother's suggestion. Although it was probably the right thing to do, I've always felt very sad about the loss. It left an empty place in my heart that has never gone away. Sometimes I feel selfish about it and other times I feel --- well, like maybe my mother should have asked me to give a different doll away.
Thanks for the walk down memory lane --- I love your doll!
Good morning my friend, thanks for swinging by to see my suitcase full of pink. I would love to see your doll, hope you post her soon.. have a super w/k..
hugs ~lynne~
Dear CeeKay,
I'm sending my prayers your way for good test results. Also, they are going to that young family you mentioned. There indeed is power in numbers and prayers--it is some wise of you to tell us in blogland.
On a lighter note, I love your bride doll--she is lovely and it's wonderful that you still have her. That was so sweet of your hubby to have that dress made for her.
Have a restful weekend. Dana
What a sweet bride doll. She is very pretty! I will keep the young family in my prayers too. So very sad, but God is able!
Blessings!
Oh she is just lovely!
Hey Ceekay, Just checking in to see how you're doing. Know that I'm thinking of you and praying for your results.
Sweet blessings,
Becky
I just love her! She is lovely! blessings,Kathleen

Charlotte
I know I'm a little late, but your bride doll is beautiful! The details are so nice.
Ceekay, I'm so glad you told me about your bride doll! She is very VERY much like mine, except mine is a brunette! I have a girlfriend that is an excellent seamstress so I may have her whip me up a new gown as the original one is now stained and a bit plain. Yours is so beautiful! Funny that we both had the faux fireplace! I see where I'm going to have to stalk you past posts when I have a bit more time!! Hope you are having a great week ~ we have rain with a possibility of ice ~ ugh!
Big TX Hugs,
Stephanie
