Tablescape Tuesday and Day 4 - Giving Thanks

Oh I am so going to use my Tablescape Tuesday post as my Giving Thanks post. I am a squealer. Don't laugh. I think there are several of you out there too!! Anyways, I am so thankful for beautiful things. You know I struggled with that for a bit. I wondered if I liked pretty things too much. Then one day, driving, I had the realization. God is the expert creator of pretty things. He must like them too!

Ok, I admit, I probably like dishes a bit more than I need to...but oooohhhhh, they are soooo pretty! Nothing tickles me more than a home or tea room or shopping spree where pretty linens and dishes are used. So Day 4 -I am thankful for the earthly joy that pretty things brings to me.

My post today are pictures of a tablescape for a tea at my church a few years ago. They are in a scrapbook, so I tried scanning. I hope you can see them. That tea was one of the most enjoyable ladies day we have had - tie for the luau...that's another post!

The dishes shown were gifts from a friend in one of our churches year ago. The napkins are from Anna's Linens. The churche's round white tablecloth was provided, so I put a piece of violet fabric with a lace square in the center. I just used filmy violet ribbon with wire for the napkin rings.

I've been involved in dinners where a hostess decorated a table. It was so much fun. I love all the blue in this one.

Hi Ceekay,, I am new to blogging, and having fun looking at other blogs. I found yours through the 30 days of giving thanks.

Your post hit home with me. I am a gardener and love to fill spaces, both inside and out. I get into collecting things, and sometimes do so at the expense of my time with God. Yet, I do feel, like you, that God gave me the interests I have for a reason. It's fine to pursue them, but I need to keep room for him, and not exclude him in my days.
