Thanksgiving Show and Tell and Giving Thanks - Day 21

Kelli at No Place Like Home is having Show and Tell and Giving Thanks is at Brookstone Cottage. Today, I am going to show a treat that has become a tradition at our home. I make one for each person and set it by their plate at Thanksgiving dinner. I think they are soooo cute and they are sooo easy!

You need two striped cookes, a chocolate covered cherry and a piece of candy corn for each turkey. The glue that holds it all together is chocolate frosting!

Day 21 - Giving Thanks today for the joy of eating! We all are getting ready for the big eating day. I love to eat and my body unfortunately shows it. I am usually on some sort of diet, which at least enables me to continue to walk frontways through a door! But I love, yes love, good food! I now know also what it is like not to be able to eat and believe me, eating is better! I asked Kathy one day, "Kathy, what if there is no shrimp in Heaven?" which we all know is an important issue! Kathy answered so sweetly...."then it will be something even better!"

Your blog is so much fun to read! I love those turkey cookies, too. Infact, I still have two frozen in my freezer from two years ago--I didn't want to forget how I made them! :)
Love your "thankful" thoughts you've been sharing----it is such a treasure to be blessed with those good friends!
Take care. Dana

They are so cute! You sure made me smile. Do they get nibbled on before the big turkey gets to the table?

HA - how clever is THAT? Jaime Oliver could not have done better.

My husband always grimaces when I take two of those little corn candies and make little 'fangs' in front of my teeth and ham it for the camera.

You're giving me ideas!

Such a cute idea. I made some of the pine cone turkeys today. Buy the pine cones in my yard are long and skinny. They make funny looking turkeys with a maple leaf for the tail. Have a bessed thanksgiving.

I love these! I always try to make something like this for teh grands' plates @ Thanksgiving. Last year, I did cornucopias using ice cream cones & candy, this year I have made haystacks out of chow mein noodles, marshmallows & candy pumpkins..... next year, I'm making your turkeys. Too cute!

Those are so cute! I'd have to hide away the cookies, though, til I got ready to use them or else we'd all dip into them.

I love to eat, too -- too much as well -- and I do look forward to the special foods at Thanksgiving. That was a good answer about whatever is in heaven being so much better than the things we love best here!
