Friday Show and Tell and Day 7 - Giving Thanks

Today for Show and Tell at Kelli's, I am showing a variety of new things around my home. The above picture is the new gazebo my husband put up while I was gone. Our old one basically got blown to shreds. He repainted the patio floor and then put it up. It is so nice.

This is one of my late Uncle's tools he used when building the cottage in Michigan. I believe it originally belonged to my Grandpa. I could have had any tool that was in the garage, but I loved the "oldness" of this one. I remember the early days when my Uncle was building and I was around 10 years old. He would "make" me help him. Now I have always been a girly girl and that was not high on my list of fun things to do, but IF I wanted to go swimming later, that was the deal. I am SO thankful today that I did it.

This little beauty I bought at a Marshalls in MI. I thought she was so perfect as a reminder of my wonderful Fall trip.

While I was away my husband hung the chandelier above our tub. We bought it probably a year ago, but he surprised me with it on my return. It also has a dimmer!!

For my Giving Thanks - Day 7 I am so Thankful for my home. My husband and I have always had nice places to live, some rentals, other mortgages! When we purchased our new home hubby told me to get what I wanted within our budget. The home we live in is perfect for us...not too big, not too small!! Just right! We, at least once a week, drive up to our home and give thanks to the Lord for allowing us to live there.

Psalms 37:4 Also delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

What a nice S&T! The gazebo is wonderful, I've never seen one like that, beautiful!

That's great that you have your uncle's old tool.

The chandelier is gorgeous! How lovely to lie in a bubble bath, gazing up at the chandelier!

P.S. - I was late putting the message on my Power of Prayer blog, it's there now if you want to see it.

All wonderful items. I really like your fence too. About the pansies. They work a lot better for me. For some reason I've never had much luck with petunias but I love them. They remind me of my grandmother who lived in Oklahoma. I remember she always had petunias outside all around her house. Every time I see petunias I think about that. I love the smell too.

Isn't it wonderful to have a gazebo. We have one very similar to yours, and we enjoy it so much. I also like your old tool - is it a planer? And the chandelier is beautiful.

Blessings,

You have some neat things to share-all different-old and new. I like the wood planer as it reminds you of your uncle. I also have an uncle that use to do woodworking. I had a few of his whittled and painted birds on my share a month or so ago.
The new things are great too!

I love the gazebo!! But I especially like the antique wood plane!! I have one too, but the one I have is from my great grandfather...it's just amazing that the blade is still sharp.

Happy show n tell today. Stop by if you can find time.

Wow that is some chandelier above the tub! And how nice that your hubby built you such a beautiful gazebo. I love old tools also. Something about how soft the wood is worn reminds me of an old quilt.

Great post. My dad had one of those tools when I was a kid and I think it was my grandpas. I don't know what happened to it. I will have to ask him. Have a great day! Elena

Hi Ceekay! Oh, your gazebo is so great! What nice surprises you had waiting for you after your trip! I love that chandy over your tub! How romantic. I would dim the lights, light hundreds of candles and soak in the tub until I 'pruned'. lol The sweet little figurene is adorable. It's so wonderful to know you're so thankful for your home. I too, know the feeling and thank God for how He's blessed us.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
