I am sure that some of my faithful blog readers must sometimes wonder about my state of mind. I can't blame anything on chemo brain right now! So, that being said....for Day 15 - I am thankful I learned how to drive!
My mom never drove, neither did my grandmother. I could not wait until I was old enough - 15 1/2 to take Driver's Ed. I had never been behind the wheel of a car and when we went to the "driving range", I about cleared the place out of cones! But I finally got the "feel" for the wheel and I learned how to drive. A whole new world opened up to not only me, but my mother. I remember the first time she went with me to McDonalds. You would have thought we were at a 5 star restaurant. My mom got on the phone that night and called all her friends to inform them of the fantastic event that had just happened!
Honestly, I think about how wonderful it is to have the freedom that driving brings often when I am in the car. Now, it is not as enjoyable as it once was, with all the traffic, but I still wouldn't trade a moment of it!

I so agree with you about driving. My husband has a pretty serious vision condition and his driving has to be limited to only when it is absolutely necessary. This has really changed his world. It's something we certainly don't take for granted anymore. It's freedom!!
You are such a cutie!
I have missed so many of your posts recently, but this time of year (with the sales I do) just makes it hard for me to keep up with my favs--like you.
I didn't actually start driving until I was 22---and my MIL forced me, God love her. I had my license, but never had a car anyone would turn me loose with (when I lived at home). When I went to college, then married--I just found ways to get around. (Life was much simpler, then). Anyway, my MIL knew that when I started "working" at my job once I finished school, I'd better be able to get myself there. She gave me free reign to her 67 Mustang--I thought I had died and gone to heaven. It was such a great car to drive. When I started working, I drove our VW Bug--my hubby bought a motorcyle for himself. Oh, those were the days (about 40 years ago!).
Yes, kiddo, I'm thankful I learned to drive, too!
Have a great weekend. Dana
Thank you for your comment on my blog. I have had a wonderful visit here. Thank you for sharing. Janis.
Yep, you gotta have freedom to get up and go when the mood strikes!
XOXO

That is amazing that your mother never drove. My grandmother never drove, but when she was a passenger in the car, she could always tell the driver how to drive! laurie
Hi Ceekay! I'm so thankful for you!! I'm like you and took Driver's Ed in school. I was in the ninth grade!! It was awesome and like you, I am so thankful that I can drive.
Be a sweetie and have a beautiful weekend.
Shelia;)
Hi Ceekay. I'm so glad you have been visiting again. I make my Banner with Paint Shop Pro. You could use Photoshop too. I have lots of graphics from PC Crafter and I use pictures I have of the kids and cut out their faces and paste them onto my graphics. It's kind of time consuming to get them how I like them but I enjoy doing it. I'm trying to decide what to do for Christmas.
You have a great evening. Janis
