Estate Sale-ing!!

I was so doing the Happy Dance!  I grabbed this, I have wanted one for YEARS!  I have some bottoms, but never the handle!!  Wanna know what it set me back??

Are you kidding me?  Oh, it is so going home with me!
Insert story here!  Went to first estate sale...saw 4 doilies about this same size...How much?? $3.00 a piece.  I told the lady, that is too much.  I really wanted some doilies...later in the morning another sale....all 4....how much??  $1.00!  Yep, thats what I'm talking about!
This curling iron is so narrow.  I have another, but narrow like this....

Candy and I were battling for the little books.  I fell in love with this one....
One of the pictures inside....

Look at the cover of this one...perfect for Christmas cloche!!  Hey Marty, I'm getting ready!!

Yep, I am doing the Happy Dance!

Great finds and lucky you! I love all the detail in doilies. I wonder if anyone knows how to crochet anymore - not me, but I sure appreciate the work.

I have a flat iron but I'm thinking the vintage might be earlier than yours...isn't it one of the first steam irons, with a place to add water there on top under the handle...I love the books.

I love your finds, my friend. A great deal on the doilies and the books almost make me swoon! The old curling iron brings back such happy memories of watching my grandmother heat hers - just like yours - on the burner of her gas range. Then she sat at her dining room table with a mirror propped up, held by a stack of books, and she curled her hair very carefully, making many trips back to the kitchen to reheat her curling iron. My dear, little mother has Grandma's curling iron hanging on the wall of her bathroom. What a treasure to have bits and pieces of days long past.
