First I just thought I would show some pics around my home. I love these candle holders. I know Tale of an OC cottage has them also, but hers are now white.....I left mine brown. I have never seen any others since I found these. If I ever do, I am buying some for gifts....
My beautiful roses have opened up some more. They are so beautiful..
This is one of my purchases. It is the front of a lock box from a post office. Most of you don't know that I worked in Wisconsin for the PO as a civilian clerk. One of the hardest and most stressful jobs I have ever had. But I did it! and when I saw this and it was affordable...I had to have it. Putting the mail in the lockboxes was one of my daily jobs.
I have to show you this fabulous find. It was in one of the resale shops. Have you ever seen anything like this? Now my mom and grandma always collected the green stamps....but neither had a holder. It is metal, I am sure probably from the 50's. I told Liz that one of us had to have it...she said I had a bigger heart attachment to it...so that was it. I bought it. Now I need to find a book and some stamps to put in it. Don't you think it is cute????
I went to Walmart this evening and they had that Fall tray that many of you have picked up for $7.00. I refrained when it was 9.00, but 7.00, no way I was leaving without one again. It matches the chargers I bought there last year.
Oh, don't you just love a fun day with girlfriends. I tell you, I just love Marty and Liz and 3 years ago we never knew each other existed. If you get the chance to meet up some blog friends definately do it....it is wonderful memories being made the whole time!!

Hi Ceekay. What a fun time you all had. I'm so glad for you. I love the little stamp holder. I remember when my mom and my grandmother used to collect those stamps and trade them in for merchandise. Sigh, wonderful memories. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday:)

So happy you gals had so much fun!!! I LOVE the stamp holder. We never had those, "I" was the official stamp poster. "Have sponge will travel"... I did it for my Mom and my Grandmothers... OH, I posted MANY stamp books in my days. I NEVER saw one of those wonderful shelves though. I bet originally it was bought with "GREEN STAMPS"! I would have grabbed that too, hehe...
Hugs to you, Donna
I love all of your treasures, I had the best time. You and Liz are so much fun and the shopping was fabulous. I think I should have bought that riding hat. Oh well, I can always go back and see if it is still there. Great lunch too. Hope we can all do it again soon. Hugs, Marty

HI Ceekay~
Just to clarify~The Christmas mantle was in the sitting room and the fall mantle is in the family room. We are blessed with TWO fireplaces!!
Thanks for you sweet comments!
Blessings,
Myrna
You DID have a good time! I am so glad. I knew I'd be jealous of the shopping you girls would get to do . . . and YUP!
We collected Blue Chip stamps and Green stamps but we didn't have a box for them. I don't really remember where we put them as we saved them, I just remember putting them in the books and then getting to go SHOPPING with them after we had enough. That was so fun for us! Great memories.
YAY! Hugs.
