I'm Dreaming of a Vintage Christmas

If you came to my home for a visit, you might be a little confused.
I have always been into "styles" of homes. Years ago I asked my Aunt Barbara, "Aunt Barb, what is your home style?" She laughed her wonderful chuckle and said, "its Aunt Barbara what she likes style!" As I grow older, I am liking this style more and more!

Ok, back to my home....I would say I decorate "kinda" old world. But then I have a country touch, a victorian side, and Grandma's attic too! So you can see my confusion.

One of these days I am going to have a vintage ornie tree. But until I do, I thought today, I would show the ornies I have in a collage for Mosaic Monday at Mary's.

If I just had a bigger house, all my decorating desires would be solved! But I am blessed with the home I have....and I just cannot have 10 trees...although I would like to!

I have enjoyed seeing all the tours of homes these past few weeks. I am always amazed at the genius ideas of blogland.

I don't know if I will post again before Christmas. Maybe, but if not....

I wish all of my Blogging friends the Merriest of Christmas. I hope all your wishes come true...that Santa is good to you....but most of all

I pray you remember the true Reason for the Season....to celebrate the birth of my personal Saviour, Jesus. I am so thankful to be a Child of the King!

Happy Birthday Jesus!

Oh, what a sweet post, Ceekay!! I am so like you when it comes to decorating. I can't make up my mind most of the time. Decorating my Christmas tree this year was as always, a walk down memory lane. I could see in my ornaments when I was in to country style, Victorian, old world and now, shabby chic. Since I can't part with anything, my home is one big mix. And my home is small like yours and I like it that way. I don't want a ton of space to fill...

I love your mosaic and ornies!! (Love that word!!) And I am going to visit your other blog. You have so many things going on in your life, I think it is a great idea.

Merry Christmas and blessings to you and your family, Ceekay!! :-)

xoxo

I love the vintage ornaments, and I know what you mean, if I had a bigger house I would have 10 trees too! But just remember, more to clean with a bigger house as well! Hugs, Cindy

I am with you on deciding a style. I think I'm primitive, but my heart flutters at all these white on white pastels, which is sooo NON-primitive... Shabby French Chic... sometimes country... old world... I'm scary. Have a wonderful Christmas. I know this has been a hard year for you, and I'm praying for a beautiful and healthy 2010! Hugs from Missouri.

Ceekay, this is a beautiful post. I fall into the same category as far as "style" for our home. It isn't any one style, but rather what we like.

Peeking into your box of vintage ornaments I see several that are like ones that hung on our family tree when I was a child. My niece has what was left of these when my mom moved from her home. She and her husband are building a home so she didn't pull her Christmas things out of storage this year. Next year I plan to take photos so I have a record of the precious ornaments from my childhood tree. Are any of these from your childhood tree?

I'll definitely keep up with "My Journey with Teal." Thank you for sharing. I think of you frequently and know the courage and strength this journey requires. Christmas Hugs and Blessings to you!

Warmly ~ Sarah

I say we should all decorate with things that bring us joy, things we ourselves think are lovely or stylish.. after all we are the ones who spend the most time in our homes. I too have a small home, but it is our home and we are blessed to have it. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!!

Hi Ceekay,
I'm a confused decorator too. Hey, let's start a design business you and me. What do ya think of 'The Confused Decor' for a name.lol I love too many styles and I'm not willing to give any of them up. I have a small home too. I really do love it, but sometimes I dream of one more room. For all my junk!
I want to wish you the merriest of Christmases girl. Do you know you are an inspiration to me. Every time I come here and see your beautiful picture and smiling face it brightens my day.

Ceekay, I love those vintage ornaments. They are gorgeous.

I have everything on my tree usually, but you know what I did this year? I put up little small trees. I ran out of time, and I decided I was not going to be able to get the big one done. So I did two little trees on the table in the breakfast room, a bigger little tree on a table in the family room, and a tiny tree on a plant stand in the foyer. And two undecorated trees on the table in front of the fireplace. Yes, I did. And it still looks festive. But I confess, I do miss the big tree!

Hope you are feeling better...

XO,

Sheila :-)

I love your vintage ornaments. I have a small house that I am very happy with. A bigger house just means that much more to clean. LOL! I rather spend my time enjoying other things.
Merry Christmas Ceekay!

I am kind of Country, I guess in my decor. It reflects what I like. There are a lot of handmade ornaments on the tree. Some from dear friends who have gone home. I like snowmen, and vintage santas, and Angels, and bears. I think it is a happy mix.
