Before Pictures

I took them of Sunny.  You may want to leave at this point.  She needs work.  My husband has gone into obsessed mode.  All you wives know it, I am sure.  I have thought and planned, but we are NO where near me doing much.

Our plan is to clean this beauty inside and take her someplace near.  I need to see if the cushions are worth saving.  My gut says no, but foam is NOT cheap, so we will try sleeping and see what happens.  I do NOT want to spend money on making covers, and then we can't use them.

I bought one little piece of fabric for something on the curtains.

Ok, here are pictures, don't say I didn't warn ya!

See the original Shasta sign.  None of the windows are broke.  The screens need rescreening.  That is the original door and screen.

This is the refrigerator.  We don't know if it works...if it does, it is propane.  Yes, we are keeping it.  I will use it for storage if nothing else.

We have no idea what this looked like.  It is a 12 volt light, so you got me on that one!

(ok....70's alert....warning, warning!!)

This fabulous!! wallpaper is on the ceiling by the vent.  And YES, we are keeping it.

Now, some serious work went into those rods and curtains....thread was wire!  and that only to keep it sorta on the rod.  This is the foam I have been talking about.  We believe it is the original.

Broken light fixture.  As much as I don't want to, I think we are going to have to replace these. There are 3 that match.

Yes, I have the original table and it is in great shape.

This is a picture of the broken wheels that open the windows.  I have NO idea where on earth to find those.  We need a lot of them.

This is the worst area.  See the air conditioner.  Well.  That doesn't belong there.  It is coming out, but of course, it ruined that area.  The screen that is all rusted can be replaced.  But that area will never be back the way it should be.  We have all the drawers, all the handles and the stove has all the knobs.

Ok, this should be up one, but this is what those knobs look like.

This is the floor.  Now you try to figure this out.  It is the original laminate.  And there are no holes and is down flat.  However, what on earth did they do?  Why the red discolor?  We don't know what we are doing.  Glue in AZ will not work....when it is closed up and storing, the glue will melt.  I really don't want wood floor because of the (oh, oh, I am going to get the 70's roll of eyes again) we are NOT painting the paneling.  I heard there are other styles of laminate that goes down like the wood locking in place but isn't wood.  But, as my hubby says, don't worry about that....we got other fish to fry!!

I know some of you may question this next statement.  But, I love my Lord and I have been praying that the Lord would help us find a little camper that we could afford.  My purpose is that with my husband's work schedule, we can get away for a day or so, now and then.  I NEVER think of the C word when I am up north in MY mountains.

I KNOW, the Lord answered this prayer.  We still cannot believe what a gift this was to us.

Ceekay, God is good! I think your little home is the blessing you prayed for and you will work wonders with it I am sure. Save that foam..you are right...it is expensive....Keep us posted on your little blessing. Excited to see what you do with it. Blessings!

Lucky you! I've been wanting to find one in already restored and ready to use condition but haven't begun to search yet. Used to camp at one time and we had Airstreams for a long time until we got a park model in the later years. Haven't camped now in a long time. I love these old restored vintage ones now!

God pointed you and your hubby to this trailer, and you said yes, this is for us. To have little get aways with hubby and to never think of the C word while taking the trips makes it very worth while. Wonderful find.

If the foam isn't mildewy, it can probably be covered and work fine....As for the floor, we had a stain like that in a condo we rented and I thought it was blood, which is terrible to get out of anything....I think this is a great little camper. My parents had one just like it once upon a time....as for the vinyl that looks like wood, I had it in my kitchen once and it does indeed look like wood....you can probably find a piece leftover at the rug and floor shop.
I can't wait to see what you make of it.

I loved seeing inside your new little trailer! You and I have been emailing but here is some information that may help. vintagetrailersupply.com can help you with the window knobs. Maybe even the broken lights. You could take your trailer to a flooring place and ask them what you might be able to use to clean the floor. You might be surprised! I can't wait to see more! Your trailer is in better shape inside than mine! I don't question anything you shared - you are going to love, love, love every minute you spend with it. I'm SO excited for you!

I'm in love with it, and all I see are possibilities! It doesn't have to be perfect (as The Nester says) in order for y'all to have fun. It's great to have a project you are both excited about - and you prayed for this and the Lord answered!

I don't question that last statement at all, Ceekay- I understand it perfectly. You know what-enjoy it as it is and you can do more with it later if you decide to do so. Here is a site we have used to find some camper parts...Don't know it will help or not but you can give it a look see. http://www.vintagetrailersupply.com/Window_Hardware_s/27.htm

Hi Ceekay! I am with you sweet Lady! I know this camper will be such a blessing for you! My hubby and I bought a camper this year after me working 2.5 years in retail management. I quit after feeling like my life was slipping away while I was stuck in a building all day catering to shoppers. It was fun but not up there on the list of important stuff to me. My Mr. also has a good many long weekends as well so we are trying to hit the road as much as possible.
I am very excited to see you have a Shasta! My family had one growing up, they are legends. We even saw one on our last camping trip recently that could have been just like yours only it was already spruced up. The knobs you are looking for should be easily found because we have some that are very similar though our camper is a 2006 Max Light by R-Visions. I think you should be able to find some that would be adaptable to your camper. I am very happy for you and cannot wait to enjoy seeing your posts as you and the Mr. bring this sweety back to all her glory and begin your trips together. Congratulations!!!!

Oh, Ceekay, your little camper looks good and how fortunate your hubby can be handy it getting it just the way you want it. Now you have to give it a name!

I am sooo jealous, honestly I think it is perfect!!! I say just go with the 70's look, it is all coming back into style. I know what you mean about the foam being so expensive, wait on that.....What a great adventure you are on...Yep, God works in mysterious ways!

Wow you found one, Carolyn! You would have loved it this weekend; fireworks lasted 35 minutes, thrift stores were mostly 50% off, cool day on First Friday and the Carpino's playing great music at Green Valley Park under the stars last night! oh, and I had a Thai Chi class on the grass at Green Valley Park Friday evening.

Wow, you do have a lot of work cut out for you! I think I would bite the bullet and replace the foam. For one, foam absorbs all kinds of thingies; and most importantly, nothing replaces a decent night's sleep. Just sayin'! We bought a tent trailer way back when our kiddos were young and we were into camping. It had a manual lift that didn't work, so The Man crawled inside with a flashlight and said, "Yep, I can fix this up!" Well, he did, and we had several years of camping fun, but it was so nasty inside and was an entire winter's project. Good luck on your new project!

I just have to tell you that I met Barbara at Paper and Metal Scrappers on Saturday. We returned home from NM via Payson, and I remembered your story about the neat scrapbooking store. The Man saw it first and pulled right in -- he didn't even have to ask if I wanted to stop! She remembered you and said to tell you she was glad you didn't have to break into her store! I found some wonderful scrap paper that I haven't seen before, and definitely want to venture up that way again and maybe take one of her classes. I'll be sharing my paper purchases on a post very soon. I'm so glad you mentioned her and the store in one of your posts!

OH you are going to have some fun! Loving it! That wallpaper is in great shape! We once had a vinyl floor that discolored that way...it was a reaction of the glue underneath the vinyl when it was in the sun...so it might be a heat/glue thing. Can't wait to see your adventures!
