When I was a young woman, I wasn't fat!
You see, I was always on the chubbier side growing up. School mates, church friends, even some family used to make fun of me being "fat".
When I met my husband at 18, I saw myself as a fat girl. And I wasn't a size 6 like a lot of the girls. He told me all the time, you are not fat. I didn't believe him.
We got married. My wedding dress I thought was so beautiful. It was all lace. Of course, you KNOW I still have it.
On my current chemo, I have lost a lot of weight. I needed to. I was fat then. All the steroids and no longer working. So I am thrilled to be thinner than I have been in many years. So I asked my hubby to get down my wedding dress. I remember what I weighed on my wedding day. I am about 10 pounds higher. I knew the dress wouldn't fit the same, but surely I could get it on and almost zipped.
UGH NOPE! I got it on because it is a full skirt, but it wasn't zippin for nothin'. Was I really that tiny?
So you see, I really wasn't Fat! Hmmm, what else can I learn after 40 years???

You are beautiful inside and out! Something your husband has known these many years.

Oh my you are beautiful with those eye of yours. I know you are much wiser after forty years.
I hate that you got teased! If you are comfortable with yourself, that is all that matters. Wedding pictures are so fun to go back and look at.
You're NOT fat....you're beautiful*!!!
You little skinny minnie...you are beautiful...I have always been a chunky...but Bill has always made me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world....your hubby knew a treasure when he saw it...and that dress is beautiful girl! Love ya sweetie...have a fantastic week...Picket
Hi Ceekay...
My friend, you look sooo very beautiful in your wedding dress! Ohh my...it's a gorgeous dress!!! Well dear lady, you are certainly brave to try your wedding dress on once again...I wouldn't even think of trying to wear mine! Eeeks! Hehe! I really can relate to what you are saying though...it seems like I have always battled my weight and I just hate it! I have, at different times in my life, lost weight but I always seem to gain it back. I'm really happy for you..being able to lose weight but I sure hate hearing how you had to do that...from chemo! I guess my next question is...will you continue to try and lose so that you can get into your wedding dress?
Thank you so much for doing this lovely post and congratulations on your weight loss, dear lady!!! Now you can get you some new outfits! Yeeehawww!
Warmest wishes,
Chari
Ceekay you are a very beautiful lady! You are not fat by any means! Your dress is beautiful!
Hi Ceekay,
You were never fat then or now. 40 years have been very good to you and your hubby is a real gem.
Loved catching up with your posts. Your gifts and fun times in pics are great. Your son is such a dear too. Love the ring from Rose.
You looked great in both the dresses. Great purse too. I would have gotten it since I am a purse aholic!!
LOL
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.
Hugs, Celestina Marie

Perspective my friend can be a funny thing. You certainly WERE NOT fat back then! You looked beautiful in your wedding dress! And you look beautiful now as well!
Funny when I was in HS and a size 2 I thought I was fat because my best friend was a bag of skin and bones and built like a boy. I really wish I could've told that girl that she was out of her MIND!!
And now that I'm farrrrr from a size two I'm very grateful to just be here....Perspective... Thankfully a little came with age *winks* Vanna
I understand about being teased - I was, too. It hurt but I knew if they really knew me they would love me! I had some of the dearest friends and they are still treasures. I love the lace on your dress. I still have mine. My dear, little mother tried to wear hers on her fiftieth anniversary. She was the same size as on her wedding day - tiny! - but she was shaped different. That's what I've learned. We change through the years and it's OK.

Hi CeeKay Sweetie...
You look absolutely gorgeous THEN and NOW. You have the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. I enjoy your smile and laughter so much. You are a gem sweet friend.
I hope that you are getting adjusted to being back home and have rested up a little. Your posts were fantastic and you look like you had a blast. I loved traveling with you.
Hope you have a beautiful week sweet friend. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous wedding photo with me this evening. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
We are always our own worst critics. Hope you are getting better each day.
You're looking great, girl!
Don't worry about the dress fitting.
Remember Ruth Graham's dress.
She was lighter than when she married after 50 years but gravity changed things and her dress didn't fit. lol
Hugs!
Congrats you looked so cute in that pic and your still cute!
Hugs,
Cindy
And not fat at all!
Congratulations on your wedding anniversary, Ceekay! What a lovely bride you were and honey, you've still got it! ;)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Hey beautiful girl...how funny you posted about this. My daughter (20) just tried on my wedding dress yesterday and my mom's wedding dress. I can't fit in either one but she did and looked so beautiful. and of all the people to get emotional looking at her it was my dad! He kept saying how beautiful she looked. I know you too are as beautiful as ever! Give yourself a hug from me!
Blessings,
Debbie
Ceekay, you were such a darlin little bride and still are. You are perfect just the way you are.

I think you're beautiful!! My oldest daughter recently tried to try on my wedding dress. She's thin, but bigger boned than I was. It didn't fit her, so that made me feel great :-)
Blessings,
Marcia
It's true! I was thin then! :)
How fun tho and look how great you look now! :)
