Saturday Estate Sale Finds

There were only 3 sales in our area this week.  That is really unusual.  Normally there is at least 6-8.

But I did find a few goodies!

I have so wanted a lighter color bedspread in our room.   I was over the Terra Cotta.  We went to this sale and here was this chenille bedspread marked $2.00.  But when I took it up the lady said oh  no, that is $25.00.  Several people have wanted it.  I said, well, they didn't buy it because it is mismarked, which is not my problem.  So the man at the register said, how about $5.00?  OK!

See that gorgeous pillow.  We went to Garden Ridge this morning cuz I had a coupon....and my hubby found it.  I just love it!

This is some of the pattern on the chenille.

And it has fringe along the edge.  It isn't perfect.....but I love it.  You know those bedspreads that come with the shams and things....that is what I had, and let me tell you....they get heavy.   I didn't want anything heavy anymore.

Ok, I stood and looked at this for a bit, I have NEVER seen before....but it was $2.00 and I had to have it!

It is like a hand held washboard....

I told you I had to have it!

Don't ask me why.....but this appealed to me.   Maybe I will find a small bench or something to use it on....

 Doilies were 50 cents...

There we 3 there....I bought them.

All in all, a great day of finds!!

Hi Ceekay, Love these finds! You are blessed to still have garage/yard sales in your area-here they have stopped due to colder weather.
Thanks for sharing.

The doilies alone are a great find. Toss in the chenille bedspread and the handheld washboard and you're way over the top. A great day indeed!

I love that bedspread! It looks beautiful on your pretty bed - love the headboard too, by the way. Thanks for popping in to see me. I just haven't really blogged in a couple of weeks because of mother. I just can't seem to do anything, but I wanted to make sure I told you how I appreciate you and your prayers, Ceekay.
You are the sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Great buy on the bedspread..25 is what the usually go for. I got 2 for $1 at a auction. I was going to give one to my cousin to cut up for crafts, but they both are in great shape!

Love your wash boards too!

Carolyn, I know exactly what you mean. I am tired of heavy stuffed comforters. At my age, less cover is better. And I love your Chenille find! So happy for you.

Great buys. Chenille is making a comeback, isn't it? I think I'll look for a small washboard myself so I can save my knuckles for another decade. :-)
Growing up, our double cement sinks in the basement had a built in washboard that was so handy.

C, you always find the best stuff. I still have a chenille bedspread that we bought the summer we were married on the side of the road in Tennessee. I love chenille. The little hand washboard is cute and looks just like something you would add to your laundry room collection.

Good finds, lady...Kathy

Lots of nice loot! The bedspread reminds me of the one I had on my bed when I was a teen. I would lie down on it for a nap and wake up with the design on my face! LOL!

Love the hand held washboard! Have never seen one. Also like the lace and bag. Fill the bag with fall foliage and hang it on your front door!

Love the bedspread, we had those growing up. I just got rid of the last surviving one! Martha Washington I think my mom called them?
