Something That Has Never Happened to me Before...

Happened today.....

Yep, a bark scorpion.  Been in AZ for 17 years and I have never seen one before.  Where was it???  Oh, it thought it was a welcomed visitor in our home.  NOPE!  A dear neighbor came and killed it.  Hubs was at work.  Got the house sprayed again.  I know the spray doesn't kill the scorpions, but it kills their food.

There is a NO VACANCY for scorpions here!

Never happened before, and I pray, it NEVER happens again!

Ick!
I hear tell, those things do stick to the glue traps pretty good too.
Don't like those at all!

Thanks for stopping in at Corn today...

I have to tell you I got stung on the foot by a scorpion when I lived in FL. It burned like fire and was itchy for a long time afterwards. My neighbor (who was a FL cracker) told me FL scorpions can't kill you. Well, I'll tell you....I liketa died! xo Diana

I'm not familiar with these things, Ceekay. Do they bite or sting and make you sick? They aren't very pretty, that's for sure!

Jane

Oh you don't need this while you are trying to be well.

Terrifying isn't it? I am averaging one encounter a week. They are always where I least expect them. I now keep a baseball bat in the kitchen.

Eeeeek, that's one scary-looking pest! My husband wants to know how big he was (as in inches) - inquiring minds need to know :) Glad that ole thing is gone now! Hugs ~ Mary

Scary! They aren't welcome here either! The Man bought a scorpion light at Home Depot & goes out & checks once in awhile, but we've never seen one -- about 27 years for us in AZ. We have had lots of crickets at this house & know they are the scorpions main food source, so we have our home sprayed regularly until the crickets go dormant. Hope you don't see any more!
