Romancing the Chalk

Do you have your cuppa and some cookies....you are going to need it.

Storytyme by Ceekay

Once upon a time, there was a little girl.  Some say she was spoiled, but really she was the only child!  One Christmas Santa delivered a big chalk board...2 sided on a stand.  The little girl loved that board and eventually realized her Daddy got it for her.  She had to have been about 7 or 8, because her daddy died when she was 9.
Many years have passed and the chalk board has lost it's stand, and hung in several other places....
When we moved to our MH a month ago...said chalk board came with us.

Then the lightbulb went on...oh honey (honey being hubby!)  do you think you could ???????

Hubby considering his move......

and today.....TA DA!

He finished it and hung it on my pantry door.....

He saved the original frame, just cut the shorter sides down....

I just love the little graphics.

This is just Too Stinkin' Cute, even if I have to say so myself!!

We interrupt this packing session to comment.

To me this is the best kind of decor. It tells a story. Sniff. You just can't buy that at home goods.

Resuming packing.

Oh- What a great, great thing to have from your childhood. My Dad died when I was pretty young, too...although not THAT young. It makes anything they had all the more precious, doesn't it? Love it- xo Diana

What a special part of your life! Now I wish I had a pantry door so I could have a big chalkboard, too. I'm working on a little one that will sit in a stand on my microwave. Thank you for sharing your sweet story about your chalkboard. So glad you have it close in your new home.

That is awesome, Ceekay! Love that you've kept it all these years (some things we never let go of, right!) and that hubby was able to re-do it and now you can look at it (and write him notes) every single day!
