My Little Ole Curio

I went to a beautiful wedding shower on Saturday.  The home was spectacular!  The hostess owns several LARGE curios...and had each one decorated stunningly!  Made me want to come home and clean my little ole curio.
Now I LOVE this curio.  I bought it YEARS ago at....KMART!  I adore the rounded glass.
So I took everything out, cleaned and reorganized.  Yes, a few things I put away...not gone forever...just taking a break!

The top shelf has my only pair of crystal candlesticks in my lifetime!....and the precious teaset was a gift from my husband a couple of years ago.  I have shown it before...but it is just so cute!  If you see the little china kitty and the glass swan...those were long ago gifts from my mom.
The violet color candy dish is Fenton...it was an anniversary gift for Cracker Barrel and is retired now.  The little girls having tea...well, to say I love that piece would just be an understatement.  Every time I look at it, I think of all the wonderful tea rooms I have visited with my girlfriends.  I love crystal baskets.  I only have 3, but they are precious also.  The little painted dish in the front hold a silver bar from Tombstone...yes, I know it needs cleaning....another day!
 Seriously???  Oh...just to precious!
This is difficult to photograph, but it is a MINI tea pot and cups blown glass.  It is under a mini cloche!!

The next shelf has my husband and my 25th anniversary goblets...they are engraved...and the little shoes were from our honeymoon!  The ruby colored goblets are from Romania.
I wish you could see this better, but it is my collection of sealife...I have had the little dolphin since the first year we were married...from Sea World.
The last shelf holds my salt collection....I only collect clear glass ones...

I hope you enjoy the display....from my home to yours!

You have that cabinet chock-full! I love your little piece with the girls' tea party. Makes me miss my "little" girls--they're just not that cute now, as they're growing up too fast!(they've crossed the line to beautiful!)
Your salt collection is amazing.

Your cabinet is beautiful and filled with gorgeous treasures. My fave is the girlie tea party! Followed by the beautiful tea set your hubs gave you. Your salts are also lovely. And I love the Romanian item - my kids are adopted from Romania! Thanks for sharing the beauty with us.

Hi Ceekay,

I adore all your wonderful keepsakes. The tea set is beautiful!
Funny thing you just cleaned out your curio, because just night I was looking at my tea cup curio and noticed all kinds of strikes on the glass and dust, I told Gary I think its time for me to clean and dust LOL.
I really enjoyed your post..
Have a sweet day, Elizabeth

I loved seeing all your pretty things. It's easy to just pile things in a curio cabinet, so it's good to refresh and pare down to enjoy the beauty of what you really like. My favorite thing is your beautiful tea set! However, the crystal baskets made me think of my grandmother. She used to have an entire curio cabinet filled with them until she grew tired of them and needed to pare down her house. I was gifted with a few, and they are very pretty.

Have a great Tuesday!

That is an absolutely wonderful collection of salts, Ceekay! Love them SO much, and I love all the rest of your pretties and their stories. I'm crazy about the cabinet, too. I love how you arranged everything. It's just perfect.

Sending big hugs your way. I've missed YOU!

XO,

Sheila :-)

CeeKAY, your pretties in your curio cabinet makes me think that you have been collecting for a long time. The red glasses are my favorite pieces in your curio cabinet. My mom had some of these glasses and now there are mine to show off and adore. You left me a comment on my blog site about keeping my statue lamp and not selling it, I'm opening up a booth at a local inside flea market in the fall and have been buying up items of decor. for resale there. Unfortunately this is one of the items for sale boo hoo. Thanks for sharing your pretties. Decor. Lady
