Life has it's Ups and Downs

I know....profound huh?

Today was such a fun day.  I met with some fellow bloggers for lunch at Cheesecake Factory.  The poor waiter...he had his hands full with 7 bloggers, all trying to talk at the same time and take pictures!  We had such a wonderful time.

Liz (Rose Vignettes), Linda (Reminisce and This and That), the Fashionista

Laura (Decor to Adore) (next picture), Cindy (Applestone Cottage), Marty (A Stroll Thru Life) and me....

Laura brought each of us one of her precious strawberry sachets...with the yoyo top!

Last evening my husband brought me a gift from a co-worker.  She had taken a trip to the Honduras and brought me back the sweetest coin purse and coins and bill.  I have collected coins for almost 50 years...so this was a real treat!

So what was the down you ask?  Well, unfortunately, on my way home I received news from my Oncologist that a clinical trial will not be available for me and that I need to go back on traditional chemotherapy.  I am not happy about this news.  I will be losing my hair again.  I really wish I didn't have to do it, but there really is no alternative right now.  The thing is, once the hair is gone, it is a long time before I will have enough hair again to not wear a wig.

I only tell you this because I know some of you are interested.  Another bump in the journey.  I will keep you posted on my Teal blog.  I may not be posting as regularly at first until I get used to the treatment.  But that probably won't be this week yet.

Anyways, have a wonderful weekend.  Enjoy it!

You are so very brave about it all. I keep my hair very short, and it grows very fast. Wish I could share some with you. Don't know if you'd like graying brown though...

Hi Ceekay, I love seeing you and Marty together. You and those pretty, pretty eyes. I will continue to pray for you, for strength/healing on this journey. I used to give chemo in the 80's and realize what it can do but also know that they have gotten better at managing the side effects. bighugs♥O

Miss CeeKay...

First...I'm so glad you could get together with your blogging friends. There is so much love and joy found in friendship with other women... They will help carry your load...

I want you to know that my heart is truly torn up over the news about your chemo. I feel terrible about whining about the stupid little things in my life when someone I admire is facing such a challenging time...

My prayers continue to go up in your behalf. This is big for you...feels big to me, too. But, healing you isn't big for God. I'm praying His miraculous touch will be upon you...

Love you~

Rebecca

Ceekay, I'm so sorry that you're having to do the chemo again. I will keep you in my prayers that the side effects will be minimal, but that the chemo does the job of eradicating those cancer cells.
(((((((Texas-size hugs))))))

What a fun get together with fellow bloggers and friends! I'm sure you all had a lovely time!

What a disappointment....to say the least, huh? This was not the news you (or us) wanted to hear...but I know you will do what you have to do to keep up the fight. What a bummer to have to lose your hair again....but Ceekay, you will handle it with your typical style and grace and show the rest of us how beautiful a real tough gal looks like.

I am so happy that you were able to gather with your blogging friends....how wonderful!!!

Have a great Sunday....I've got you in my prayers. L, Dana

Sweetie, I'm sorry to hear this. I hope and pray that the news will change, and they will find a differfent route.

I'm trying to blog a little today and not do too much. I have to pace myself which is not easy for a magpie to do. ;-)

So glad you got to be with your blogger buddies. Glad Cindy got to be there with you. I know she was headed out to see her new grand, and I'm so happy for her.
