He's Moved - Woop-ee!!

Now please...don't get me wrong.  I love my son.  Tons.  But you see, I have had a little secret.  He has been living with us for a few months.  He just moved into a gorgeous townhouse...we are so happy for him....BUT, we are HAPPIER for us!
You know, it is one thing to have your kids live with you when they are growing up...even if they stay for some years into the twenties...but then they leave...yep, it is supposed to do that!
THEN, they come back!

So what have I been doing in my joyous dancing and singing???

Cleaning the guest room....I think it is gorgeous!  It is small, but it is me!!

The picture above the bed I have had for years!  I believe it was Home Interiors.
Garage sale find years ago...I love the harp.
This little Bible was a gift from me to my new in-laws when I married into the family.  It was given back to me after their passings.  The eyeglasses were my grandma's.
 Just cute bottles.
This little rocker was a toy of mine.

 My few pink dishes!!

I love these old hat boxes!!
and a pretty fan.  I was so glad to get rid of those builder grade white fans!
The curtains are a burgandy print....
Oh, I found this at an estate sale.  Please, can you stand it?  I would love more of these....

I am crazy over the sheers in this room.  I bought on the clearance isle at Walmart for $2.50.  Adore that ruffle!

The little blue hanger that the dress is on....was one of mine as a baby.  The purse and fan I used in a play that was set in the Victorian era.

I just adore this book....it says it all for me!
My husband says it is good...cuz he is an old thing too!!
Sorry, I tried several times to get a clearer pic...but see the little camera...my daddy bought that for me when I was about 7.  It really will take pictures if I could find film to fit it!

So, it is all ready.  Let me know if you are coming to town.  The room is all ready once again!

Woop-ee!! I can totally understand that sentiment. I was so sad when my boys went to college. But now they come and home and it throws me for a loop. Of course, they are only 21 and 19....having a true adult come home would be a little hard.

Ceekay,
The room is just perfect! How wonderful that you have so many of your childhood treasures. Yes, I know how you are feeling. Our daughter and SIL lived with us for a few months while they were looking to buy their first home. Loved having them, but now love having them come to visit. You know exactly what I mean. p.s. Thanks for telling me a bit more about altered art.

Oh forgot, I hear ya, love her being here, but our 23 years old is back home for a while.

Ceekay, what film does your camera take? I might be able to get some for you here in Spain.
I absolutely adore your guest room, and fully understand your happiness at your son's moving out. My 27 year old has been back for the past 2 years, so believe me, I KNOW!!! :D

Oh, I wish I was coming to town. Soon! It would be such fun to chat and hug and see your beautiful room in person. One of our children moved home twice - each time bringing along one more child than the time before. It was needed and we were glad to be able to be here but, oh - how we danced and celebrated the day they moved into their own place!

If I got to stay in that gorgeous room, I'd come today! I love every single little detail - my fave is the two ladies sewing, but I really love your little dress ... the wire basket with towels/candles is perfect. I really just love it all! Thanks for sharing the beauty.

I can imagine how it was having your son back home....we really do enjoy our empty nest, too.
Your guest room is lovely and my first thought was, I want to come stay.
My second was, I want you to come decorate for me.
Have a blessed day,

Love your guest room. So inviting. I thought the harp leg table was the, 'it' item until I saw the silhouette. Yummy! The bible and glasses reminded me of my grandparents who looked like those pictures of the old man and woman praying. http://cgi.ebay.com/OLD-MAN-Praying-CANVAS-Christian-Art-GRACE-LARGE-/360223262367
Have you seen these?

OH.........Ceekay I can so relate....our 27 year old son is back "temporarily" and while I love him so much I'm not really enjoying his "decorator style"....shall we say a mix of college/man/curbside/trash has graced the room.....thank goodness for bedroom doors!
Hugs,
Lynn

Oh Ceekay, you made me laugh... because our 3rd born son moved home a month ago... and while I love him to pieces, it's been strange to no longer be empty-nesters. I'm already dreaming about my plans for his room when he moves out... hopefully by the end of the year. ha! We'll see...

HI!!!
I am in the process of doing that very same thing...son has graduated from LAW school, so I really doubt he will Ever move back home...I love him TONS and MORE, but at 26, I am SOO glad he is able to move out on his own and spread his wings. we give them all of our LOVE and hope one day they can leave the nest. I am so excited to get the room re-done.....but I wanted to paint and so it is taking me a while, hopefully I will have finished pics up soon, I have 2 babies to watch 2 or 3 days a week so my time is limited to painting!!!Plus it is SOOO darn hot climbing up and down a ladder!!!!!
Hmmmmm...should I ask my Son in Love to do it???WHY YES!!!!
See you friday

Oh Ceekay, you are so funny! I loved your post. The room looks amazing and the bed, the furniture, all the loving wonderful extras are just perfect. But you have a welcome sign in the frame...maybe you should take that down until you know for sure he is good and gone! Buwahahahaha...of course I'm just kidding! Right? Big smile.
Love it my dear!
