Mom Cave for Me!

Susan is hosting a marvelous Mom Cave giveaway from HomeGoods. I currently have a bedroom that I call my room. It has my mother's hopechest and many of my teacups and teapots. My husband bought me a lovely fainting couch that is often where I sit while chatting long distance to my girlfriends.

Although I really like this room, I desperately need a desk. I love to do scrapbooking and altering bottles and journals and I do not have a sturdy surface to do it on. I would love having a place where I could work on it and not have to put everything away.

Crafting has become very important to me since I had to take an early medical retirement. It gives me an outlet to feel creative and also to make gifts for friends.

Of course, along with the desk would be some items to corral all those supplies. And I would also love to find a footstool to take the load off!!

Here are some ideas of items from HomeGoods...

So I am off to think about some changes in my MomCave!

Dreaming is all part of the fun!!

Hi Ceekay,
Very nice mom cave! It would be nice to not have to put everything away each time. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Great post Ceekay and wishing you all the best in the Mom Cave giveaway...woo hoo! I so hear you when it comes to having a desk of your own...when we first moved into the Love Shack I gave up my desk cause I thought a round DR table would be more appropriate...NOT! Sorry to say...but DH and I never eat at the table...just don't so I moved the round table out and set up my studio desk once more. Don't know what I was thinking...being creative feeds my soul and my stomach can wait...lol Have a great week, fondly, Roberta

Hello Miss Ceekay! Lovin' your mom cave. Now don't you forget to scour Craig's List for a desk girl!
Hope you are feeling well and keeping you in prayer.

In such a beautiful room, you could use a folding table if you made a skirt for it...that is what I use in my studio(no skirt). I keep saying I'm going to add one but haven't yet.
I like the way you've decorated the room...and I noticed the bears right away.

Good luck! It's always fun to feather one's nest, even if it's just through the pages of a catalog. I do that all the time. Oh, for the perfect room!
Looks like you have a nice spot to relax. ~ Sarah

Wow, it looks fantastic!!! And I love the couch, tea pots, and photos--they look beautiful!

I saw where you said we can change the size of the pics...what button do I push? I'd be happy to keep it large permanently.

Dear CeeKay...

Girly...if you think you were in tears over my bloggie post today can you even imagine me sitting down at my machine and reading that note from my hubbs? I couldn't see to sew!

Now...I love your CAVE! Can I come spend the night? :) I'd love it in there!

Hugs to you~ xo~

Looks like my kind of place to hang out. I have taken over a tiny guest bedroom for my crafts, sewing and fun. I love it...first real Mom Cave I have had in 30 years of marriage and I can just leave the mess and shut the door.
