Olive Grove Visit

Another place we went while Kathy and Sandy were here was an olive grove in Queen Creek. This place is something to see! Every kind of olive oil you could imagine for sale.

The outside is groomed beautifully....

By the store there are 100 trees, but in the actual grove there are over 600!!

We took a tour and a session about olive oil, how it is grown, and produced. It was quite interesting.

They pick the olives at very ripe - purple, medium - pink, and not ripe - green and blend for their olive oil.

This is a worker taking the blended mix and putting it in containers.
We ate a marvelous lunch there that was featured on The Best Thing I Ever Ate. I actually ate the sandwich they highlighted on the show. It was delish. We spent a nice chunk of change on all the olive oil items....
It was fun, fun, fun!!!

This looks like such a fun place to visit! Love the beautiful teacups in your header! I have a big teacup collection that belonged to hubby's mother. Thanks so much for stopping by, and for your nice comments :)

this is great! We have similar orchards around here. It is fascinating! Right now I have 5 - yes FIVE olive trees in my back patio - whose olives are ripe - EXCEPT - we ordered "berriless olives" when we ordered the trees. What a mess we are in for - all over our concrete. Tree trimmer is 2 weeks out - AAAGHHHHHH!!!!!!!

:) Hugs! Karen

CeeKay, I would love to see this place. The best description I ever read of olive oil production was in one of Frances Mayes' books, Under the Tuscan Sun or one of the sequels! It is fascinating. Have a great day! Linda

Queen Creek is very near to where my baby sis lives in Gilbert!!! I must ask her if she is aware of this place, as well as the Le Chalet that you took your friends out to eat. Both sound like great places to visit.
