What Came First - the Butterfly or the Bee?

Well, actually, it is the daisy china that came first. 36 years ago on the 18th! Noritake Annabelle was the china my hubby and I picked out as a young couple getting married. I still LOVE that china. I am old school in the china department and still believe that every bride should have china. I know that isn't so commonly thought anymore...but, that is MY thought!

Shopping at HL a couple of weeks ago I saw these butterflies in the Christmas decorations!! I had to have them. I LOVE butterflies...so then the thinkin' machine was on. I have a couple of bee things....so, that is how we came up with this tablescape for Tablescape Thursday at Susan's.

I hope you enjoyed my summer-ish tablescape. My husband and I smiled as we looked how pretty it is to us....so many years later.
Have a great TT!!!

****added - I didn't say where my things came from and some of you are asking. The beaded chargers were an after Christmas find at Target. The little tea spoons were a gift from Kat at Mimi's Garden. So I don't know where they came from...but they are cute. The beehive candle is from CB this year. The glasses are good ole Dollar Tree. The orangish butterflies came in a set from Michaels. The little creamers were from some place in South Carolina! Oh, and the golden mercury glass candle holder is one of two, again from Target after Christmas. Sometimes I don't know if you all want to know where each thing came from because I do use the same stuff occasionally.....ok, I am back to looking....

Hey! Your butterfly's are gorgeous!!!
What a pretty table. I like the bee idea. I am old school too. I think every bride should have a set of china and everyday dishes. It is really amazing how we attach our memories to our meals/dishes. They are precious to us.

Happy anniversary! We're celebrating 37 years in November!I'm definitely in agreement with you, Ceekay. China for a bridal shower or wedding is "tradition"! We didn't come from a "throw-away" generation, we were taught to treasure things from the past, and I'm encouraging my grandgirls to purchase beautiful china, crystal and silver so they will have a past of their own when they celebrate their 36th, like you and your hubby. It's all so beautiful!

Those GORGEOUS chargers came from TARGET!!!!!!!!!!????????? I am stunned, they are so pretty! I hope they sell them agaon! I ahve looked for years for beaded chargers but never wanted to pay the PRICE! I also adore the tea spoons, they are so pretty! I didn't get china as a new bride but did get it many years later and still love it! I probably wouldn't have picked something back then that I would love now....so I am glad I didn't get it in the beginning:):) Pinky

Ceekay, Oh what a gorgeous table ~ I love those butterflies and your china, too.

You did a fabulous tablescape with such fine detail ~ it's so welcoming.

I agree with you, special china helps develop family traditions and begins a new history...ya, I'm sentimental traditionalist when it comes to these things! :)

I love those big ole butterfly napkin holders, or maybe they are just resting on the napkins, but at any rate, they are perfect! I love knowing where everything came from...I love it when someone throws in something that looks fablous from the Dollar store!

Hey Ceekay! I love your nature-inspired tablescape! How did I manage to be a bride three times and never have a true wedding, wedding shower and get good china, I'm wondering? (I know, it is because I'm too shy for social events!) Well, I guess I wasn't as smart as some of you when I was younger! Very pretty!

Now, you know me...decorating is usually not my thing - at least not to your level...I like decorating - but Spartan is the name of MY game. However, having said that, oh do I LOVE the butterflies. They can just fly here to me - I'd be happy.

Glad to see you're blogging away - you must be feeling some better!

OH my goodness! My china was almost exactly like that but by Lenox I think. I long ago sold it because I too believe a girl needs Sunday dishes, but mine are Bennington Pottery now. I carried daisies in my wedding and they were on my cake and my kitchen dishes had daisies on them too. Our kitchen and dining room were green and gold which of course went well with the daisies!

Your tablescape is lovely - I love the butterfly and bee theme. And congrats on almost 36 years!! Just wonderful! And I am so glad you felt well enough to put this together!! That's the best part of the whole post!!

hugs, Linda

Hi Ceekay, thanks for visiting my first TT :) I love your table, the honeycomb candle is awesome. Love the butterfly and bee theme, so creative.
Our dog Boo is a Shih Tzu, he'll be 4 next month. I take him to Petsmart to get groomed and it's called a 'puppy cut'. I have to have his ears short as he eats wet food and they get messy on the ends if they are long!

Hi Ceekay,
You combined all your lovely things in such a festive way. It's interesting how the new HL butterflies started the whole process. We never know where we'll find inspiration, do we?

Hope you have an enjoyable weekend!

Love your "Daisy Chain" china. I'm with you, every bride should select a wedding china. I'd still select our same wedding china after 34 years. It is so special to use it and add to it with other patterns to change up the look.
