Nester's Garland Show and Tell

The Nester is hosting Show Your Garland today and Trim the Tree Thursday, so I am showing my garland. I know that I am going to be an amateur at this garland, cuz I have been lurking at blogs and I see what is out there...but hey....I wanna play too! The garland I made this year is for on top of our entertainment center. It started with 2 $4.00 garlands from Walmart kinda "braided" together. Then I just added Dollar Tree ribbon and bows...red and gold ornaments and some pinecones and stuff from old flower arrangements. I just "stuck" them in there. The red bird was my mother's from years ago. I do have a small battery strand of lights. I don't care for them though. Hubby picked them up and they are LED. I prefer the "good ole mini's" but I am not going to complain. He bought them while I was sick and I appreciate his kindness. 35 years of marriage has taught me something girls!

The second thing today is this beautiful, fantastic and so fabulous Award from Charlotte. I am to list 5 addictions...oh boy, this could be opening pandora's box!

1. I must have ice tea every day, at least one glass.
2. I must wear earrings everyday, whether I am going out or not.
3. I am addicted to watching QVC at least a little every day! I don't buy, just watch....HONEST
4. I take at least one bath every day. You all know this one...I did a whole post of the wonderfulness of a bath.
5. hmmm, how about a fettish here??? I cannot stand burned out light bulbs. Nope, cannot have them in my home.
ok I am supposed to pass this on, but here's the thing. I have seen this award all over the place. SO, the first 10 commenters on my post today, if you would like this (and must I say, my total style of award!) for your gorgeous blogs...please take it as my gift to you. Let me know, so I can see what is "wierd" in your life...hey, you think I want to stand alone in this???
Oh, I can hardly wait to show you what I worked on this evening. I think it will have to be my Show and Tell this Friday. And, just because I am very excited about this, I would say I am about 95 percent done shopping! Woohoo!!! My cold is much better...decorating is done...well, you know, for right now and everything bought is wrapped. Cards are sent! Happy, happy am I! Wordy too! See what happens when I am out of sync for a few days...I have to make up all my words I missed those days. Ok, I'm done.
**Well, not quite...it is Wednesday evening...I took those dumb LED lights off and put real white lights in...redid the whole thing, added a bit more...you get the idea!**

It looks great! I don't like the battery lights either. Way too much trouble for the miniscule amount of light they put out!

I enjoyed your list! I forgot my earrings, Monday. Cannot believe I didn't have my earrings. J had his drs appt early Monday morning. I remember having the earrings and thinking I'd put them on, on the way out the door. Nope, laid em down on the vanity and there they stayed. We were almost to the dr's office when I I grabbed my ears and said OOOOhhhh NNNoooo!

You did a great job on your garland! I'm almost all done w/ my shopping. Considering we have also 4 birthdays during the 2 weeks of Christmas day, that's saying a lot!

Your garland looks great! By the way the trees make me tired too. Don't know why I do it to myself. I might have to start trying to leave them decorated and put them in the attic if at all possible....who knows? Have a great holiday!

I think you did a great job on the garland. It's a great feeling to get all your Christmas shopping done and everything wrapped. Then you can relax and enjoy the season more. I just mailed the last of my Christmas cards today unless I get some from someone I didn't send one too, then I'll print out a card and send it to them. I've made my Christmas cards on the computer for several years now. It's such fun.
Christmas hugs,
Charlotte
