Monday's Thoughts

I wanted to come up with some brillant title for my post today...but, alas, no. Sorry I haven't posted but I have been sick, sick, sick. I haven't been out of the house in days and I haven't been able to do what I need to do, but I got knocked out for the count with this yuk...whatever it is. I did manage to start some wrapping.
I have had time to listen to some Christmas music and to think about the real meaning of Christmas.

I received a gift. I won this precious snow fella from Shoul Creek Cottage's giveaway. He is so cute and the handiwork is amazing.

I bought these little guys from our grocery store BEFORE I got sick. They were $4.99 apiece. Thought that was a good deal....

Until I got to the register and they were

$3.50 apiece!
Be still my heart! Is anyone else out there having fits over the tremendous sales out there. Some of the stores are practically paying you to take their stuff. My kind of shopping. On the news today it said that the Dollar Tree was up 43% this quarter and the 99 cents store 36% over the year. No Kidding! My husband and I always say EVERYTIME we are in there, what we could have done with a store like that when our kids were little! I know some people don't like the dollar stores - and there is some "junk", but I am telling you, many, many times when people love something I have, I tell them, got it at the dollar store. Sure, I may have to tweak it a bit...but that is fine with me. Anyways, I am still alive, and I better be out and about by tomorrow, or someone - probably my hubby - will be hearing about it!!!

Oh, and I did change my header and background for the holidays. I hope you like it.

So sorry to hear that you have been sick, Ceekay. That's so frustrating especially at this busy time of year. It sounds like you have made the best of it.

Congratulations on winning the giveaway.

Hi Ceekay,
I too am a dollar store shopper. I find the best treasures to use with painting or decorate with. I think it is fun to get the great deals. You sure found some wonderful treasures.
Hope you are feeling better. WOW I got to visit twice in one day. Love it!
See you soon, have a great week.

I love you Christmas look. How clever of you to put that together.

So sorry that you haven't been feeling well. There seem to be so many folks with the "gunk" these days.

I know that our 99.9cent store is doing really well these days. It is amazing what you can get there.

One year my family and friends all got tiny nativity figures of the Holy Family found in the Dollar Store. They were white ceramic and fit nicely in your hand .
I am in Canada so even more of a bargain because they would have been less than a dollar in U.S. currency. HaHa.

Morning, Ceekay! Oh, poor thing, I hope you get to feeling better soon! I do love all your pretty decorations! We all have so much to do, don't we? It's hard to get the rest you need. You're right about being a dish diva! We can't help it!
Be a sweetie,

I am so sorry you have been so ill and especially at this time of year.
Please continue to get better
and enjoy a wonderful Christmas.
I agree with the dollar store. I am in charge of buying toys for 50 Christmas stocking for precious little poverty stricken children for a party on Saturday. With 50 to buy for I headed to the dollar store yesterday. I was amazed at what I found to fill these stocking up.
Take good care of you!
hugs, Beth~♥
