After Christmas Shopping!

Yes, I was one, along with my tolerant husband, out shopping Friday. We hit Target, which is become our tradition. I really wasn't looking for anything in particular except for some candle holders I had seen before Christmas. Well, I think I hit the jackpot. Now, I really didn't buy that much, but what I got was well worth the trip. Mostly I bought some plates (shock!), tablecloth and napkins, and some fabulous napkin rings. All these items will be future Tablescape Tuesday posts, since they were not Christmasy, but considered "holiday". Cracker Barrel was having a fantastic sale, but be proud, be very proud...I did not buy anything but a few 35 cent snowmen for my tree and some votive candles. Oh, I was very tempted to buy, hmmmm, dishes!!! but I refrained. I can't invite enough people over to use all the plates I have already. But they are beautiful.

Gold mercury glass birds. They only had 2...now, they have none! All these items were purchased at Target.

New glass bulbs for my bedroom tree - next year!

Glittered pears for one of the apothecary jars!

This is the candle holders I saw and wanted. Gold Mercury glass. I got two. Oh, I just love them.
I am continuing to "play" with my new camera (a Fuji fine pix). I tell you ladies, I just was spoiled this Christmas. I always am, but this year especially so. I am so blessed to have a loving and giving husband. He knows what I enjoy, that is for certain.

I hope everyone has had some time to relax. I am surprised at how many of you already have Christmas decorations taken down. We always leave it up until the day or so after New Years. I am in no rush. I still am enjoying looking at my beautiful trees.
Oh, and for some of you who have been wondering....NO, I did not get a puppy. I guess that is a good thing, since we like to get away occasionally...but this is the longest I have ever been without a dog. I did see a PRECIOUS teacup Chihuahua. She was such a baby doll and my hubby even had a name for her....Margarita! He thought her bed area could be called Margaritaville. But, alas....no puppy.
And I have to add - 200th post is coming up very quickly. I will have to think about what kind of give-away for celebrating it, and the new year! I will keep you posted.

Looks like you had a good day shopping. My mom had a fun profitable day as we.
The grandkids look like they're having a good time in the pics below. Glad you are having a good holiday.

Oh you were so good! I tried very hard to be good. Too bad they don't give out awards for trying! But, I will enjoy what I purchased and as of right now I will refuse to feel guilty (thank you for helping me work through my little moment there)!!!!!

What pretty treasures! My mom has some very old mercury glass pieces.

It is so much fun to get good after Chrismas buys. I am in the 'purging' mode lately so I am forcing myself to stay away from the sales at my favorite prim shops. It is soooooooo hard!!

Have a great weekend!!

Morning, Sweetness! Oh, I'm so glad you've had a wonderful Christmas! You're doing fine with your new camera! I was blessed too! God and family are certainly good to me! Oh, I like your new blog dress. Your top is so beautiful. Ceekay, I'm like you, we leave our tree up thru new year's and I usually take my time taking it down. Since I was so late putting mine up this year, I want to enjoy it a bit. Oh, the puppy, I know how you must feel. I just need a little dog in my life or I think I do. Chloe Dawn is like my precious little child.
Be a sweetie, my friend,
Shelia ;)

You made a great haul on your after-Christmas sale goodies! This year is the first time in years we didn't get out for the sales...

I'm envious, as I still haven't gotten out to 'after Christmas' shop yet. I have high hopes for tomorrow, however. My house has been reclaimed - every sign of Christmas (except the Hummel Nativity) has been packed away. Our Christmas stuff goes up Thanksgiving weekend, so I'm always ready to take down the day after Christmas. Have a great weekend. Sally

Hi, what pretty things you found! You mentioned Cracker Barrel...that is my favorite place to look and to eat! We don't get to go there much as it is in another town, but just love to go when we can. So glad you had a happy holiday! blessings, Kathleen

Ceekay,

I didn't get to do any day after shopping...well I did pick up a santa for $5 for my aunt that collects them.

I also just wanted to thank you for stopping by my blog and for your kind comments on my kitchen too!

It looks like you had a wonderful Christmas with your family! From our family to yours...a Blessed New Year too!

There is a very nice lady that posts from time to time on the forums on QVC.com. The name is unusual enough that I was curious.
BTW, I am a 32 year ovarian cancer survivor myself. May the upcoming year bring you everything you deserve.

Yikes! Where do you put all that??

My little 1200 sq. ft. ranch can't hold half what you have in Christmas decor alone, girl.

Glad you had fun, though.

The thing about dogs, though, is they get old. Check out my blog re:our 14 yr. old doggy.

No shopping for me, if I don't buy AT the store, I don't have to find ROOM to store!! LOL

love ya

Great buys...I haven't been to a single store since Christmas...too busy enjoying our eight grandchildren.....

Thank you for declaring that it is the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, that we celebrate Christmas...that has been my mantra this Christmas...I think many people feel this way and it's time we stand for what we believe....I don't celebrate the birth of a holiday.....

A pleasure to visit with you....Betty
