Ok, I admit it....I am cheap!

My husband accidently broke one of my ORANGE gazing balls.  I had two.  So I went on the hunt to replace them.

Holy Moly!!!  They are expensive.  I found my ORANGE ones at an estate sale years ago, stands and all for a dollar.  OK anyhoo....

I do NOT have nor will I spend 50 plus dollars for 2 gazing balls.  I mean, mercy, I could get a lot of stuff at an Estate sale for fifty dollars.

Ok, so then what do I do?  I went to HL with my hopefully future DIL and found 1, one boxwood ball.  $8.00.  Hmmmm, remember my boxwood wreath.

We looked everywhere, but was the only one.  So after chemo Tuesday I went to another HL and there it was.  My other boxwood ball.  Yeah!

I think they look really cute.  and $16.00???  Ok, I will spend that!

I put the surviving ORANGE one on the other side of the MH.

And I took a few snaps while I was out there!

I had to copy one of my neighbors.....She found the Solar Mason jar....I had to have one!

Here is a small nod to Valentine's day.....

I didn't show my Christmas gift from Candy.....it is a similar dog to Bentley....he is not a Westie, but he is white and fluffy and does shake hands with his left paw!

I put a treasured scarf on his neck that my friend Melody embroidered for me.

I got this plant at an estate sale for $6.00.  My ficus was no longer green.  I know this won't last long, but it added some color.  The sun fades everything in Phoenix.  So you can't get too attached to decor outside.  It all has to be repainted, replaced about every 2 years.

Well, there you go....my big update to my yard!!

Hi Ceekay, So I'm living vicariously through you and your beautiful yard.
We still have snow on the ground, everything is dead in the yard and more snow is coming. I remember how fun AZ was last winter-enjoying warm temps. Could get used to it.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks for sharing your great finds.
Hugs, Noreen

The boxwood balls are a smart way to solve a problem. I like them! Your outdoor area is so pretty. Is it warm there?

Your boxwood ball looks great and your yard looks beautiful! I wish mine did. It always looks pitiful this time of year. Enjoy your weekend, Gail

I can be very cheap Ceekay..it depends on where it's going to go and when it comes to my yard and gardening, I find there is a lot of wiggle room. You did good!

What is that where the grass would be...I know the heat is terrible where you are at.

XO,
Jane

those gazing balls are so pricy, I know what you mean...I do however love the green boxwood balls...if you spray them with any clear waterproof lacquer spray they will not face in the sun...my friend scotchguards all her silk flowers even the ones that she puts outside and they won't fade either...who knew...lol

Ceekay, I had to laugh...I love a bargain, too, and when something is overpriced I think of all I could buy at a sale instead! Love your boxwood balls! And happy birthday, too! :)

You're not cheap Ceekay; you're thrifty! (and smart - wow those balls are expensive!)

Love the yard shots; so weird to see when everything is so white up here!

I don't think you are cheap, just cautious with your money. I am the same way. Your yard looks so pretty. Love the boxwood balls!

Ceekay, gazing balls are pricey. A good place to buy them at a reasonable price is T.J. Maxx or Home Goods. I got my pink one for only $10. I have paid $25 for a very large one. I almost bought those exact same boxwood balls at Marshalls a couple weeks ago. I thought they would be cute on my urns on the porch. But then I thought that they would get too sun faded. Yours looks awfully cute!

I like the boxwood to replace the gazing balls...but sorry one of your original ones got broken. If you lived closer I would take you to a place where they are relatively cheap...at least cheaper than they are there.

Loving that mason jar solar light. I have not seen those before. xo Diana
