I am NOT a gardener...

like so many of you wonderful bloggers, but I do love flowers around my yard...  I thought I would give you a little tour.  It is spring in AZ....a very short season this year....because of the extremely cold winter....but I will enjoy it while I have them.  By Mother's Day, the flowers are gone....burnt up by the sun!

I had to show my Fairy Garden in a vintage oil pan....I just got the orange cactus from Home Depot...I Had to try it!

This plant took so long to get started, my husband kept asking if I wanted that weed pulled out.  It is supposed to attract butterflies and hummers....Nothing yet!

I just got this darling bench at an estate sale last week for $5.00.  It was worn out blue...I think it is soooo cute!

I know this rose is almost at it's end, but I wanted you to see the pink!  More are coming!

My neighbor gave me this birdbath....I already had another, so I planted flowers in it!

This planter I got a couple weeks ago at an estate sale for 50 cents....now you know I had to buy it!

More of my roses....yellow this time, and tons of blooms almost ready to pop!

This is Bentley's favorite spot while I work on the flowers...he is a lazy bones!

I wish I was better at the flower stuff, but my mom had NO flowers outside.  However, I must get the love of it from my Grandma.  She had gorgeous rose bushes....with no drip systems either....she collected rainwater.

Next post I want to show you what my husband MADE for me on the side yard!!  See you then!

I think your thumbs are green, dear friend, and oh, what bargains you found ... planter for 50 cents and bench for five dollars. I like your fairy garden and that new orange cactus. Keep on growin'.

Your flowers all look so pretty, Ceekay! Do you have any area on the east side of your home? A lot of things will last a lot longer on that side. We even have some very healthy alyssum that not only survived last summer (in a pot on the west side of our home), but also the hard freezes that we had -- shocked the heck out of me! Let's hope our Spring is not too, too short!

You look .like a wonderful Gardner to me! I love the flowers in the bird bath the best. I am waiting for a little more sunshine here to get out to the garden. We may get snow tonight so I think I will have to wait until next week.

Hi Ceekay,
I can't believe how sunny it is there! I don't think I could do the heat you have there in Summer, but I could certainly do early spring like you have. I hope you enjoy all your beautiful blooms while you have them my friend. They are so pretty!
sending hugs...

Well you know I love flowers! I bet you just have to savor every moment before that heat comes. Have you tried lantana? It loves heat and blooms like crazy.

I love the oil pan fairy garden. You will have to give us a progress report later on this spring.

Hi Ceekay, Love the urn you got for 50 cents. Your flowers look pretty. I did not realize you are a transplanted Arizonan, and that you lived in Michigan in the past. Bet you don't miss the cold and snow one bit! Loved your disney pics too!

I only dabble in gardening. If it doesn't grow...I pluck it out by the roots and plant something that does!
I give up in the heat of summer.
Your fairy garden does make me want to get one going, ...I keep saying that but haven't done one yet!

maybe this will be the year. Pat

Well, you look like you do pretty good to me. Your flowers are beautiful. I know it must be hard there with the summer heat and dry climate. Here we worry about the cold and frost. We can't plant anything outside until after Memorial Day-ugh xo Diana

Wow, your roses are beautiful! We had some light snow this morning in Virginia, can't imagine how warm it must be there. Can't wait to see what your hubby has made for you tomorrow!!! Mary

Wow, so nice to see all the colours since it is still white with high snowbanks up here. I wish I were as great a gardener as my father; he has a wonderful garden. But then again he is out there every day tending it. Perhaps when I retire I can do a better job than the few planters I do - but we can't even put out plants until July; it's just too cold! Reverse of what your situation is! Your fairy garden is too cute!

Love the color in your "garden"! My flowers burnt up last year too. I've even "cooked" pumpkins that sat near the pool. Your yard looks so comfortable. Thanks for sharing with us. Victoria Lavender
